So, I took a shower. My cat got locked in the bathroom with me. I'm so glad she did.

As I was stepping out of the shower I see something black and the size of a quarter run across the floor. I don't have my glasses on so I have no idea what it was for certain but I think it was spider. Before I can even react Luna pounces on the blurry skittering quarter and eats it.

I was wondering if anyone would please give me some suggestions on my next Livestream. My first one is hereand I am aware that I need to get my audio working a bit better before I start. I was having trouble with my tablet pen working at the time so the first several minutes is me fighting with it to work and then hearing the layered music from my own computer and then on the Livestream player in the other window-I wasn't aware at the time that it would play that way so I had mute the player.

Aside from getting that set up faster, I am probably going to turn off instant messenger programs too.

Do you guy's have any suggestions for my next one? Should I have a microphone set up to chat with anyone who comes around? Would you guy's want me to post up on the forums if I am doing a livestream?

While you have a point I don't think that's what that specific article was getting at, the article I read was literally saying "no you cannot do this it's simply wrong of you to wear dreads because you're stealing the culture and don't belong to it". I just think it's not fair at all to sit and say well YOU can have this but YOU can't. It's like asking for equality and then going back on it.

So many people don't seem to understand the concept of "equal" I can appreciate a culture and not be of it right? If I stood and said "well you're not European you cannot join my Ballet class" that'd be pretty bollucks right?

I remember when I was 11 I walked in on my mother who was looking out the window and sobbing so hard I assumed she had seen a puppy, kitten or child get hit by a car. Worried, I too looked out the window and was confused to see no accident, no trauma; just my neighbor’s 13 year old daughter looking bored, walking her dog wearing a pretty white dress. Confused I turned to my mother and asked her what was wrong.

She rounded on me, no longer crying but with rage on her face.

“Look at her! LOOK at her! She is beautiful! She looks stunning! Why does (neighbor’s name) get a gorgeous daughter like that and I get a fat sack like you? What am I supposed to do with you!? I can’t take you shopping! You’ll never have a boyfriend…I might as well have another son. I would KILL for (Girl’s name) to be my daughter. KILL.”

For my entire childhood after that my mother’s “love” was based on my weight. When the numbers went down her adoration went up, but when the numbers went up I went back to being non-existent. An embarrassment.

Thin Privilege is not having your parents be ashamed to be related to you; having your parents be happy to claim you as their own.

As for dreads, the majority of white people I've run into with dreads don't know how to cultivate or take care of dreads and end up with a melting, unwashed eagle nest on top of their noggins. Having been to not a few Phish shows, I know of what I speak.
