Is it too soon to take a pregnancy test, though?
My period generally comes on the 27th of every month.

I think they have ones that work that early.
And a blood test would be able to tell.

I don't think so. The early response tests are 7 days before your missed period. And if your symptoms are the result of pregnancy then I would think the test would be positive because it means the hormones are already affecting you. Maybe? So having the test be negative now might give you some peace of mind. If you don't get your period in another week though, you'd want to retest and those kits aren't cheap. On the bright side - most women don't start getting morning sickness until a month or so in. It would surprise me if someone were only a week or so pregnant and already feeling queasy - but it's probably not unheard of. I vote test.

No. Paternity tests are now relatively easy. A one-night stand can leave you stuck with child support payments being garnished directly out of your wages. Men should be just as concerned about birth control as women.

Okay, guys, I'm not pregnant. I got a box of three and took all three of them. All negative.
Yaaaay!
Not that there would be a problem if I was, but you know. It's nice to not have to worry about that just yet.

Whew! Bullet dodged. But remember kids - no birth control is 100% effective. If you really really don't want to get pregnant you need to use two methods and use them correctly every single time. And if you aren't monogamous for God's sake use a condom. Lust may be fleeting but AIDS is forever.

That's true. Similarly for lesbians. Spit doesn't make babies.

Dunno if that falls under "birth control" or not, just that I know several guys who underwent the procedure after they were done having kids (but not sex).

Yes, Bisected, sterilization is a form of birth control - just not one that's particularly appealing to people in their teens, 20s or 30s who might like to have children one day. Also, I seem to recall that there are times when the operation fails? Or maybe that was just a Scrubs episode! XD
