I just pulled out a jar of grape jelly from the fridge to make a sandwich and apparently it had been sitting in there for a while cuz when I opened it and took a whiff, it smelled like it had fermented. lol I threw it away but I'm pretty sure if I had eaten that stuff I would've ether gotten sick or drunk.

I didn't know jam could ferment. It just went mouldy in my case.

Just finished playing with using gelatine for FX makeup. Results aren't fantastic, but at least I know now what I can and can't do with it. The treatment on my neck is actually for my chest, and the big growths (on my arm) will be all over my shoulder and legs for a Halloween party tomorrow night.

... I suspect that it will take me longer to put on all the makeup than time actually spent at the party.

^Gaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh that is so gross looking! Clearly whatever you're doing is working.

I just finished making my corset! I'll do decorations at while at the hospital tomorrow and then after that all that's left is to finish the tutu and work on headpiece stuff. Progress!

Heh, thanks Sakura. I figure as long as "gross" is a reaction I get, the SFX will be a success.

Congrats on your progress - hope things keep going well. I've yet to get brave enough to attempt corsetry OR tutus, though I would like to have both.

You're welcome!
And thanks- my corsets are all kinda "fake" seeing as they're the cheater corsets that come with costume patterns but it works, and it's not too hard to make. Tutus are a different story, but they're really more tedious work than anything. You should go for it, if you want to try!

VGL was amazing, as it was last year --- I wish it didn't take 7~8 hours for a roundtrip drive to go though. I'm kinda put off at the amount of mainstream that gets played, but it's mainstream for a reason (And I'm a gaming hipster for another reason :/).

"Every year, people ask us what is the loudest city we've been to and we always answer --- Montréal in Québec!" *cheers* --- I'm sorta curious if he says that line at other places, he did it last year too XD

It's not much of a contest, it's based on audience noise saturation. In both years I went, there were no kids in the cosplay participants and frankly --- it has nothing to do with 'costume accuracy' or the rest of the masquerade bullshit of conventions :/ Folks just line up in easy costumes, there's a short intro, the crowd cheers/applaudes and the show moves on.
