Don't get our residents Brits started on word differences, Luna. They don't even know how to properly utilize the letters U and Z.

I can kind of speak British, I just always wondered if they had an equivalent to the wonder that is American biscuits over there.

I meant with the different words for the same things... Like cookies vs biscuits and fries vs chips and all those other things.
On an unrelated note: my favorite mascara has vanished!

Happily, the meaning of "wise-ass" is the same on both sides of the pond.

Technically ass can only mean donkey here, giving it a subtly different meaning.

I guess Canadians are a lot closer to speaking British English. Since we kept our ou's and zees and the metric system.

I like the metric system. It makes more sense!

I tend to go all over the place with metric and imperial, though. Distance and speed is metric, height is imperial, weight is imperial for weighing myself but a mix when cooking, temperature is celcius (though I understand fahrenheit), sewing is metric OR imperial depending how small a measurement I have to make (as in, I'll measure in cm if I'd have to divide inches, but larger things are in inches. BUT unless buying from a US site, fabric is cut in metres., and I use metric for measuring liquids and gas.

Actually, that happens to be an ancient nautical term. How did you know?

ITT: "Bull frogs? That's a silly name, I'd a called them Chazzwozzers."
Completely unrelated, holy crap you guys, I think I've found the best .gif from a movie this year. Complete with a fantastic headline! http://filmdrunk.uproxx.com/2012/11/...ect#more-78231

I just looked up the websites of the two independent candidates for my area's police commissioner.
One's looks like a tabloid, the other's looks like a template. FFS

The only reason I will even be awake at midnight anymore is because there's a child in the house that I haven't been able to pawn off on someone else.

My question is how did she miss her fucking purse? Both aren't exactly tiny. If she took it out at the end of the movie so she could find her phone to tweet, I'm never going to stop making fun of her for doing so. I've never seen/read the movies/books/fanfictions whatever, but I know their existence pisses nerds the hell off, which I'm cool with. And that shirtless dude looks like an Alpaca. And imprinting is thing. As is TACKLING THE HELL OUT OF MOUNTAIN LIONS? Also vampires?
