Typically you don't name an animal if you're going to eat it, Fred says it's stupid.
Dairy cows get names and so do the beef cows we breed, along with our does and sows. I dunno about the sheep... Fred kinda hates them.

I used to come across a lot of cows when I lived down south. I had a habit of enjoying getting up the gate and petting them if they let me.

When I was a kid, my class went on a field trip to a farm and we were told we could try milking the cows. I think I was scared of the cow cuz it was so much bigger than me.
