Happy retail things make me pleased.

Customer: “Looks like I’ll need cash back today.”

(The customer opens his wallet. It’s empty.)

Me: *laughs* “Oh, I know how that is.” *joking* “But I never even have the cash to get back.”

(The customer gets $40 in cash back. I hand him two twenties.)

Me: “Twenty and forty, have a good day, sir!”

Customer: “Thank you!”

(He walks off a moment, then turns around and tosses one of the twenties I handed him onto the register.)

Customer: “A little cash back for you.” *smiles*

(Before I can protest, he leaves. I wound up using that $20 to fill my gas tank. Thank you, sir!)

Getting triple helixes in the top rims of my ears come Saturday. The tattoo/piercing shop is owned by great artists and personal friends, so I'm terribly excited to see both of them (note: I don't get excited to see other people regularly. If anything I get worked up and anxious like a poorly socialized toy-dog and compulsively think of ways to get out of having to interact with other humans for any intensive intervals. Mostly by shaking and peeing), but only now it's really dawning on me that that's a lot of holes being punched in my body in a short period of time.
My pain threshold is pretty high, but I've never had a hard-cartilage piercing before and this will be my first/s in like... six years.
I've got a feeling I'm going to be playing Russian Roulette with my nerve endings.

Maybe it's just my rural upbringing, but GodDamn, if I saw a couple affectionately drawing together and eating donuts at a Tim's I would get so irrationally excited. I wouldn't actually approach you at any point, but I would steal glances every now and again and think about how cool you were.
