I will defnintely agree about hand-sewing faux fur. It will be time-consuming, but in the end will be easier/give better results than doing it with a machine. (Pretty much why I've never made anything bigger than ears out of fur so far >_< )

I hand sew small things, mostly repairs and the like. Particularly now with Jiji's toys I've sewed up a LOT of fake-fur things in the last week. I didn't even know it was possible for something so small to destroy stuffed things so quickly...

So like Penny said, hand sewing something like fake fur would probably be better then sewing it by a machine.My little mini machine probably couldn't take all the fake fur I'd throw at it.

Depending on the kind of ears you want for Pikachu there's a few styles and patterns/tutorials you can find.

If you want the classic long head-band kind here's a tutorial someone has up. You'd end up with this style:


If you want something more 'realistic' here's a simple pattern print out that would get you something like these:



For the tail you could try covering some foam cut out with fabric, or if you want more of a plush style one you could stuff it as well. If you want the tail to stay upward you might want to consider attaching part of the tail to the back your clothing so it doesn't flop.

Will hopefully be done next week so I can pay for a obijime, sell the extras I didn't mean to buy, and prep to buy my next Tan of Kimono fabric - an Edo Komon this time.

I haven't read too much about it, but there were apparently quotes from his dad talking about Kekua visiting Te'o, etc, which makes me think that either Te'o was complicit in the hoax, or that really this is just completely FUBAR. I know there was a lot of discussion about Catfish being staged or embellished, which I can believe, but I can also believe that there are sad people who become very good at creating double lives or alternate identities, and that there are people who are duped by them because we have a really hard time acknowledging lies that complex, even if deep down we know it doesn't add up.

I can imagine him lying to his family and the press about her visiting because, you know, it's embarrassing to tell people that you're in love with someone from the internet that you've never actually met.

But it's so much easier just to find a real girl to be a beard. She wouldn't even have to be in on it. And since he's Mormon any reluctance on his part to have a physical relationship wouldn't raise any suspicions. IDK. For now, I give him and his immediate family the benefit of the doubt. So I reshaded that Ramona picture and I wish I did this before because OMG I like it so much better. I basically just did hard cell shading in vivid pink and set the layer to Pin Light. Did a few different layers for specific parts of the picture set on different layer modes and touched up the lines of color to be crisper.

WHY DIDN'T I SUBMIT THIS BEFORE. GOD.
