Finally dug out!

I'm not looking forward to the drive to work tomorrow. I'm in at 9, I think I'll leave at 8.

I think they should just send Lordi every year, personally.

Lucky me, I didn't have to shovel. But the plow man for our apartment is a cheapass who'll come once a day at the most- so, there was about a foot and a half of snow in the parking lot when I woke up and it took a few hours for dad to free and clear off the car AND shovel extra away to actually get out of the driveway. And there was this weird "wave" of snow between two of the cars from the wind effect that looked really neat. FORTUNATELY the wind was blowing in a way that made one driveway almost clear but the OTHER one with snow up to your knees.

Finland, Sweden, and Norway pretty much have the best metal (depending on which kind you like) so every time any of them send something that's not metal, it breaks my heart a little bit.

But then I remember I don't have a heart and if I did it would be black and made of stone, so I just listen to some Manegarm and everything is okay.

I agree on that best metal part hehe.
Actually in Finland's UMK this year (the who-will-represent-us-in-Eurovision thing) there was a new metal band called Arion.

Mĺnegarm is awesome!!

I agree entirely. And Germany.

Boyfriend's debating on getting gerbils... I know I'm not protesting. They're so cuuuuute (and he has had them before, which is why he prefers them over rats or mice). It's also making me think about what to do with my betta when I head off to college in the fall, assuming he's still alive (I'll have had him for a year and a month then, so he'd be close to a year and a half old. My last betta lived to almost two). Easiest solution is to leave him in the care of Dad, but he is MY fish and I'd be practically abandoning him if I left him. On the other hand, travelling with a fish isn't the easiest, and if I go home on holiday for more than five or six days (I say that long since they make betta pellet blocks that release food gradually over a week to keep them fed) I either need to find a fishsitter or take him with me.... AND on that same note, I was planning on getting a betta in Chinatown (because holy CRAP do they have gorgeous ones there) once my current one died, so I'd still have to take it home with me at some point...

Would your dad mind taking care of him? I can't imagine taking a fish any real distance would be easy. I know the trip home from the store was pretty nerve racking when I got Tsuki (may he rest in peace) and that was in Meghan's car.

I want another betta, but I'm waiting until I move in with Meghan which is less than a month away.

Yeah, dad takes care of him already when I'm not around (pretty easy; feed in morning, turn light and air on, snack in afternoon, feed at night, turn light and air off. He's only had to clean the tank once and that was when I still had a small betta bowl), but he'd be having to take care of the fish now for at least a few months compared to the usual max. of one or two weeks when I go away. But yah. Travelling with fish is SO NERVE-WRACKING. I'm always terrified of water spilling or the bag leaking or it falling, or the fish getting to bumped around. There's ways to minimize stress on the fish, but it's certainly not as easy as putting a dog in the car or even a small mammal that can stay in a carrier.
