Ugh, I hate it when I overshare, and don't realize it until after its happened. Then I feel horrible, and have to do damage control, and that usually makes it worse, and... ARG! I'm really not that weird, I swear. *headdesk.* Just a loudmouth.

They're on eBay for $15, not including postage :3. Postage to where I live was about $10 or something.

I hate how 75% of the articles I click on require a fee to be read fully.
I need to do this research paper. It is far too late to change topics. I am NOT paying $20-25 just to read an article that's no more than 6 pages long (but probably more like 4). This is BS.

When is the paper due? Most schools and libraries have access to data bases that will let you access articles.

I dunno. My teacher said he wanted us to get our research papers done in the first 10 weeks of class and tomorrow (today) marks the beginning of the third week. Or maybe fourth.
I'll keep looking around though, and see if the library has anything current on the topic.

Thumbs up

Gosh, haven't been here in a while. :P

Anyway, since 2013 began, i've been in the process of producing content on my Youtube channel! I'm still living in South Korea and i've been uploading some material of my time here. So far I have two shows underway, with a third currently being worked on. I have one more show in mind but it depends if I there is any interest amongst people.

One show I have is called "The Lost Art". In this show, I read letters given to me by my students word for word. It's more than just me reading though so go check it out!

The Lost Art #1

The Lost Art #6 (newest episode with me speaking Japanese and Spanish!!).

My other show is Turnabout Wanderer. In this show, I explore different parts of Korea and Japan and talk about my experiences. So far I have three episodes uploaded!

TW Ep. 0: Tokyo Game Show.

TW Ep. 1: Turnabout Beginnings.

TW Ep. 2: Turnabout Weddings

Hope you guys like! Please be sure to let me know what you think of my material! I have more in the works so I can't wait.

Got sucked into youtube watching anime again. I forgot what I originally went there for. *L*

(edited for being an airhead)
Oh yeah! The purpose actually was anime. I was listening to the voice actors and trying to pick up their techniques..... but...... I kept getting drawn into the story.

Damn you, Johnny Yong Bosch, Erin Fitzgerald, and Yuri Lowenthal! You're all too damn good! Reveal your secrets, Plea-hea-hea-hea-hease!

Speaking of voice actors, one of the guest dancers in Sleeping Beauty looks like a Brazilian Travis Willingham.

He's hot. I love him. Because there's another girl that's taller than me, I didn't get to partner with him for the beginning of act 2......

But seriously one of the girls said he looks like a "frikkin Greek god" and lmao it is SO TRUE.

In other news, I just wrote a proposal for English in 40 minutes. I am quite proud of myself. Of course, I read studies and articles for around 3 hours in order to write it. :|
Now, to clean everything because my mom decided to get the house appraised. Tomorrow. I'm going to be cleaning until like 4am.

Found an hour long convention Q&A panel with Johnny. Guess who's mining it for techniques? *two thumbs* This girl. *whispers* I will learn me some acting tips.

Oh, the advice! So useful!

Ugh, I have such an urge to practice my voices more, but I need to sleep. Sleep is important. Make-up can hide only so much before people start to notice I'm carrying some serious luggage.

Ick. You know that thing when you go to sleep, but you dream that you're up all night and thus don't feel rested whatsoever? Fuuuck.

Thesisthesisthesisthesis.

Anybody want to know why vampires aren't Freudianly "uncanny" even though they use, like, all the motifs that Freud identified with the uncanny?

WELL I CAN TELL YOU BECAUSE I'VE BEEN STUDYING THIS SHIT FOR THE LAST TEN HOURS AND MY BRAIN IS CRYING.

It's because the stereotype associated with them has become familiar to us--so, not unheimlich--and because when authors humanize them, like in Twilight, it also familiarizes them. So they lose the uncanny edge.
One could make them uncanny again if one chose to try and tap into our repressed fears in a different way., but as for most of their current incarnations, vampires = not uncanny figures.

*sips 50 oz. of espresso*
*jerks away*
Interesting. Because vampires have represented fears and repressed desires in the past, the whole distrust of swarthy foreigners and the sexuality that Dracula represents. In horror people project their repressed desires and fears on to the form of a monster so they can destroy it and validate themselves.

However now vampires have become such a stereotype what they represented has become irrelevant.

Interestingly Nosferatu represented the rat more than the bat and was seen as an allegory of the plague.

Next year I hope to study Gothic cinema and specifically women in Gothic.

Last night I was desperately trying to write my film treatment/step outline while drinking a bottle of wine and eating chocolate in the hope that it would make me more creative but all it did was make me sleepy. So I came in to my seminar this morning with only the first act worried that it wouldn't be very well received. Nope instead my teacher said it was annoyingly good. Hooray? I think he just likes me because I'm writing a modern Gothic pagan horror in the west country of England... which is sort of his area of interest.
