AOD 2011 Feedback Thread

Now that AOD is done and over with, it's time to look back on the good, the bad, and the shenanigans.

What did you like about AOD? What did you not like? Will you return?

Post here about your highlights, lowlights, and suggestions what Animation on Display can do better in 2012.

When I arrived at the convention... I felt like there was nothing to do, really. I went into the Dealer Hall, bought a keychain, picked up some stuff from Artist Alley... then felt like buying a badge was a waste. I wandered the convention halls (which were extremely crowded), none of the events seemed too interesting to go to... and i had more fun just hanging out with friends around Japantown than the actual convention.

Maybe if the convention tried to pick a bigger venue (crowded was a huge issue for me), then i might have enjoyed myself a bit more to be interested in the convention itself.
Upcoming Conventions:
SacAnime, Anime LA, Anime Conji

I have to say that we need to pay attention to our trash next time. I returned to the hotel after hanging out with friends in the mall around 9 PM. Most people were gone and there were trash EVERYWHERE in the lobby. If they were flyers, that's not really a big of a deal. But they were food wrappers and empty bottles. That kind of littering was not acceptable. A few friends of mine picked up most of the things laying around because it was just so unsightly.

Come on you guys, hotel Kabuki is beautiful and they were nice enough to deal with our antics for one weekend, can't we at least be courteous enough to pick up after our own stuff?

Other than that, it was surprisingly cozy during the con considering that it was pouring outside and everyone had to be indoors most of the time. I had fun.

Well...I definitely liked hanging out with everyone, and meeting new faces! The Anime Burlesque panel was super fun too!

However, I kinda felt like there wasn't a need to buy a badge for the WHOLE weekend, since there wasn't anything interesting going on for Day 2.

I definitely plan to go again next year...but probably for Saturday only.

sadly only went sunday due to the rain. I also went late like 2:45ish so buying a badge at that time seemed pointless. Went to artist alley to pick up some goodies. Meet the Edward Elric and Winry there who were awesome! and other ppl were rly nice too! Meet my first fan girls at this con. Now thinking bout it this was my first con i cosplayed at! Next year i plan to go only saturday rain or shine!

AND i forgot to reg for cherry blossom festival parade! ugh! was a big reason why i went to aod! I rly wanted to check out the dealers hall but i wasnt going to spen 20$ for the remaining 2 hours of the con -_- tried getting thru staff but i jus played it off and turned around lol

does anyone have any info on the free con in sj? I think it is around mid march??
