Just a small correction. Actually the police were the ones who shot 9 innocent bystanders. The actually gunman never even fired during the confrontation with officers.

Naturally the media had to leave that last part out because they have been saying that only law officers have the ability to stop crime with their training.

Sorry if that wasn't clear - that was my intended point - that people were shot by the cops, and the cops are trained with using a gun.

If someone who is trained in using a weapon, and hopefully on a consistent basis, and is trained in using it in a scary situation like that is able to strike citizens - who are innocent - then what of teachers with weapons? Or average citizens?

I don't recall how many rounds were unleashed by the cops, but it did seem high.

The thing about it is, that police officers are not some super trained police they just have to qualify with their gun very rarely at a distance of 7 meters. A majority of private gun owners do more target practice that most police officers.

But in my opinion there is a a very clear difference between the principal who died "lunging at the gunman" as a principal who shoots at the gunman at a close enough range to ensure a high degree of accuracy.

I like the twitter responses that say "No please, don't deport him, we don't want him back."

It's is worth noting that while his speech is protected under the constitution, his presence is not.

IMHO he is just another in a long line of "journalists" (i used that word very loosely for Mr. Morgan) that believes they have something profound to say (they don't) and believe that everyone should listen to them (we shouldn't).

I do find it interesting that the private school where Obama's children attend, along with other "elites" that simply are better then us "commoners" has 11 armed guards on duty at all times. The school always has those guards, in addition to the secret service protection presence that is at the school due to Obama's kids being there. Yet the media (some of whom have their children at this school as well) keep telling us that we don't need armed guards, just laws banning things.

This is the very definition of hypocrisy. But then most "elites" believe themselves to be above the law anyway, so they don't see a contradiction.
