I've recently agreed to cosplay as Lily Evans in a group of friends doing a Marauder's-era cosplay. One of my friends in the group has a wig that she would like me to try out, but I'm not sure if it would work or not, since I haven't seen it or have a chance to put it on. I'd like links to at least one or two wigs just incase this one doesn't work out. I need a long wavy dark-red wig, or whatever you guys think would look good. Younger Lily (the one I'll be cosplaying as) isn't even in the movie yet, so I don't have any reference pictures of her hair, but that's how it was described in the book, if I remember correctly. I'm really excited about getting this cosplay together, so I'd like to get the wig out of the way as soon as possible. Thanks for any help you guys could give me. C: |

I have a couple options for you~!
Here's one, it's a bit expensive. But it's a nice dark red: http://cgi.ebay.com/fs-wig-80cm-Long...#ht_3112wt_952 This is also a really lovely one, for a lot cheaper: http://cgi.ebay.com/929-New-Long-Red...#ht_1411wt_952 (Also, the seller is nice I've heard~.)

when i cosplay lily i use two different colors, depending on my mood. Sometimes i use the fire red (seen in my icon, though on a different character) and other times I use henna red. both are fabulous and lily-esque. ^^

Moonflower: I love you for that answer. XD I was thinking about asking you this question (I consider you an authority on gingers. ^_^) and that is such an awesome answer. And makes me feel better about my own fire-red wig. XD

I think that going with a deep but coppery red for Lily Evens is best. That's how I read it at least. Some gingers have a very pale coppery tone while others are more intense. Since she is a natural ginger I think it is weird to go for a true red or henna red look. I save those wigs for Anime characters with crazy coloured hair.
I would use a wig like this (see avatar) http://i194.photobucket.com/albums/z...IMG_1123_2.jpg http://i194.photobucket.com/albums/z...IMG_1130_2.jpg I really like this wig, it has really nice thin fibers and a skin top for a realistic and style-able look. http://www.amphigory.com/wigs_jenny.html Last edited by Rei Yuriko : 12-16-2011 at 05:37 PM. |

This is the wig I got for Ginny, but I think that it would actually be PERFECT for Lily. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Copper-Red-0...ht_1920wt_1050 It's really nice and looks really natural. I brushed mine out some and that got rid of some of the tighter curls. It's heat resistant and very soft. It behaves a lot like real hair. And the price really can't be beat.
If you want to see some of my picture of the wig, here they are.http://www.cosplay.com/photo/3109131/ http://www.cosplay.com/photo/3109121/ http://www.cosplay.com/photo/3109124/ http://www.cosplay.com/photo/3109122/
