Unfortunately, the only books I'm reading are my textbooks and my fairly empty notebooks.
I'm trying to see if my brother has the rest of the Ender's Game series. I can't really figure out if it was a dream or not, but my mom was looking in his bookshelf for the rest? ...nah, I think that was a dream...

I just picked up "The Name of the Wind" by Patrick Rothfuss.
Wonder if it is any good.
Oh well. Great material to fall asleep to if it turns out boring.

It's not, like, the greatest fantasy book ever, but I remember enjoying it. I got really annoyed with it though because I didn't realize that it was just the first part. I'm getting toward the end and going, "Huh, how's he going to tie all this up in 50 pages? Oh. He's not. There's a sequel and I'm going to have to wait YEARS for it." But since the sequel came out this year, you can pick that up soon as you're done with the first one (if you like it). Me - it's been so long that I'd have to read the first one again before I read the second one because I've forgotten pretty much all the details of the plot. -_-;

One thing I don't like about those Epic Fantasy books is that they have wayyyyyy too many books. I mean, a trilogy is fine, Tetralogy is okay. But anything beyond that, I get turned off by it. I like to read sci-fi and fantasy for the expansion of my imagination and whatnot. reading a long running series is counter-productive for me.

I mean, I want to explore new worlds [in my books], not to live in them.

I read about 150 pages of that the name of the wind book, and it's pretty decent so far. I think I like it.

I am reading the Sword of the Truth series. I read first three books in a row, loved it, then I lost interest by the fourth book. I just didn't care for its world. Recently finished the book four though.
My friend ensures me that it gets better now that the...tension wore off between the two protagonists. I guess I'll tackle the rest of the series sometime soon!

Ooo, amazon's bugging me to pre-order the next Discworld novel (and it's a watch novel too!). I haven't even got around to finishing Unseen Academicals though! @o@

Dreampark. It's about LARPers and murder. A nice way to ease my brain into summer.
Then I want to reread the Harry Potter books, it should only take a week or so. I can finish Socerer's Stone and CoS in a day. Same with PoA and about half of GoF. I read Half Blood Prince in 6 hours the first time I read it. I got it at midnight, got home at 12:10 and stayed up all night eating pocky and drinking Snapple. Deathly Hallows took me 2 days, but I was on Vacation when it came out.

My AP US History book for summer homework [brick'd] Soo much to take notes on ;__;

But for pleasure reading I just finished Bo's Cafe. My church had one of the authors come in as a speaker and was selling the books. It was pretty interesting. (:

Dragons of Autumn Twilight
or The Soulforge, if you want Raistlin and Caramon's backstory.

This series is...well...essentially what happened when a bunch of authors sat down and played D&D. So they decided to write it down. It's not often looked upon as particularly intellectual or literary. It is what it is: high fantasy.
I really enjoy Raistlin, the anti-hero of the series. I find Raistlin's struggles with identity (he's a twin) and good and evil and the thin line between them quite telling of humanity's constant struggle. But yeah. I like all of the characters. He's just my favorite.
It's sort of a guilty pleasure.

temple was a bit hard to swallow after the awesomeness of slaughtering the blood of the fold. some of his later books get a bit tedious with social-political commentary, but the action is still pretty good until the last book
