The "House of Night" series is alright. Not great, but I read most of the genre, and there are definitely better and worse out there.

A Song of Ice and Fire is fantastic even if it is a bit heartbreaking at times. I hope you enjoy reading it. I'm waiting for the next book to come out.

I really want to start reading A Song of Ice & Fire but I am pretty intimidated by the whole series. I'll at least... read the first one. Haha.

I just wrapped up Monster Hunter Vendetta by Larry Correia. It's the second in a series, but I haven't read the first one. A friend had lent it to me. Very entertaining and full of over-the-top action. It read like a blockbuster Michael-Bay-meets-Robert-Rodriguez film. It had everything: zombies, Cthulhu, werewolves, vampires, frankenstein, fairies, gnomes, necromancers, world-domination cult, inter-dimensional travel, and lots and lots of violence. Not the thing I typically read, but fun and the violence is often delivered with humor.

I started re-reading Dune by Frank Herbert. Partly as a bedtime book, partly because I was in the mood for something desert-y, and partly because I kept having Dune references. I typically like to re-read books I've already covered at bedtime so I don't have to pay as much attention or devote a lot of conscious activity to keeping up with characters and plot (since that will defeat the purpose and keep me awake). Still enjoyable this time around.
Sometimes cosplay is like pie.
People who make pie are awesome.
People who buy pie are pretty cool, too.
If pie is delicious, I will compliment the person serving it to me.
If they made the pie, I will absolutely compliment them on having made it, too.

I'd like to see the book version as a movie, i liked the differences

Right now I'm reading two books.

Learning Capoeira, for a class.
And Just Food, for a different class.

...Reading for class makes potentially interesting books suddenly less interesting. But then again, if you never had the class, you probably would have never read the book.

I started the Black Jewels trilogy by Anne Bishop recently also. Picked them all up at Goodwill on the cheap and thought I'd give them a shot.

I'm finishing up the last few hundred pages of The Wise Man's Fear: Kingkiller Chronicles Day 2. It's pretty awesome. Whoever likes fantasy and hasn't read The Name of the Wind (the book I'm reading is the sequel to it) should definitely look into it.

Waiting for the next Song of Ice and Fire book! He actually FINALLY gave a release date, I'm pre-ordering it next paycheck. ^.^
Plans for 2014:
Anna (coronation day gown) (Frozen)
Black Mage (original/formal design) (Final Fantasy) (25%)
Asuna (Sword Art Online) (90%)
Flame Princess (Adventure Time)

While I'm still reading Ciaphus Cain: Defender of the Imperium, I'm making time to also read Classic Human Anatomy for Artists.
