I read from a blog that Alodia aka as the cosplay goddess has decided to give up cosplaying to focus on her studies. Not sure if this is true as nowhere else seems to mention it. Just wondering have many people heard about this and is it true? The article can be read here.

Even if it is true, it's her decision, cosplay is not as important than some aspects of life, like education for example. Her fans shouldn't be disappointed but rather, encouraging. She's still an inspiration to us all, cosplaying or not. I wish her all the luck with her studies and when she's ready, she may come back to cosplaying. Who knows?

Exactly.

That's the thing about a hobby like this... there really aren't any truly *famous* cosplayers (like there are famous musicians, authors, athletes, etc). I've never heard of the ones mentioned when people talk about well-known cosplayers in different parts of the country (or the world).

I can very much understand changing interests and losing interest in a hobby, though.

Someone I don't know and who doesn't know me is stopping making costumes to go back to school and provide a future for herself. Whatever shall we do without new pictures of this stranger?

Sorry you are all right. It was very rude of me to start a thread about someone who is a cosplay model because in the end of the day she is only human. Just to explain Alodia is a cosplay model who models for many costume companies, she also made an impact in the costume/cosplay industry, she would be similar to Ya Ya Han.

It is her business and it was very rude of me to start a thread about her. I get to much involved in cosplay, modelling and make up art culture and blogs. We all seem to share different opinions about cosplay. I wish her the best of luck. Feel free to lock this thread. I apologise.

I don't think it was rude of you to post about her. It was just a little......misguided? Personally, cosplayers are just people who make funny outfits. I don't care about the personal lives of anyone not my personal friend or family member, so things like this make me headdesk.

No offense but if she's not making her own costumes and is modeling for other companies she's NOT like Yaya. Yaya makes her own costumes almost exclusively. There is only one costume in her COSPLAY gallery that she did not make herself. Yes she is a model but comparing the two on that ground isn't accurate.

While this is cosplay realted to an extent I don't think more then a few people on the site probably care unless they are personal friends of said cosplayer. . .and that goes for any cosplayer.
