How to cut 9-gauge wire?

I'm not sure where to put this so I'm putting it here.

I made my Dizzy wings using 9 gauge wire. I'm needing to modify them and so I need to cut each wing off, the problem is I can't get this wire to cut. When I first made the wings I used my heavy duty wire cutters (allegedly made for this) and had to saw with them, bend the wire, saw more, bend the wire, etc. until it finally snapped off. I couldn't apply enough pressure on the wire cutters for it to make an even cut. Am I just not using good enough wire cutters or is 9 guage wire always this difficult to cut? I can't bend the wings to help break the wire off but these cutters aren't doing it anymore. I've barely made a dent in the wire after hours of trying to work through it.

What kind of cutters do you have ? It depends on what the wire is made of, too, but...

I've had trouble using aviation sheers for some things (to the point where I'd have to put my entire body-weight into it and they'd get dented) and have had to resort to bolt cutters.

Bolt cutters are a bit pricey, but nice to have around since they're very efficient when it comes to how they cut. You can get cheap ones for around $20, but I have never used them and cannot say what quality they are. You might be able to borrow some.

Get a mastercraft bolt cutter, we have one at home and it'll cut through pretty much anything.

Thanks guys. I was doing some research and saw bolt cutters so I'll probably buckle under and try those..and if that doesn't work..I'll throw a hissy fit XD But thanks again.
I'm not sure what wire cutters I have, they just said they could cut up to this guage so I hoped they'd work @_@ The wire itself is just normal silver, galvanized wire.
