Yay, a T&B thread! This is the first anime that's held my interest for more than like three episodes since Get Backers. Fortunately my girlfriend fell for Barnaby as hard as I fell for Kotetsu, so I didn't have to CONVINCE her that Tiger needs his partner. XD We're throwing together their street clothes for Otakon on short notice (thrift stores plus hat-making and shoe-painting means I got most of Kotetsu's outfit together in about 24 hours)... somehow I doubt I'll ever get her into Barnaby's hero suit, sadly, but I might try making Kotetsu's. Or I might do Origami Cyclone and have her just take pics of me sneaking into other series' photoshoots. XD

Well I might as well get myself acquainted with this thread 8)

I'm looking into cosplaying Sky High at some point, maybe early next year? Dunno how I'm going to pull it off (my skills are not up to par with this D8) but I bet I'm going to be in this thread a lot asking for help 8P

Cant wait to see what T&B cosplays you all churn out!

So, it's pretty much official now. Kotetsu will be done for y-con along with my fiance as Barnaby. Might enter the masq. as well with something different (if I can get the hang of it, so un-coordinated). So excited. Gonna have the plush of course.

Finally rediscovered the quote button for convenience! I'm glad to see this thread really growing with the number of cosplayers interested in this series! =)

I used to make all kinds of weird looking stuff out of acrylic in workshop, they should be able to handle curves!

It could be kind of awkward if you needed large, whole sheets though as acrylic needs to be heated to be bent and stuff. Heat forming can be done with an electric oven, but you do need to be able to fit the sheet in (you could always cut it in half but you'd be able to see the divide in the plastic, if that bothers you).
I have heard about acrylic, but I wasn't aware that it could be heat-shaped with an oven. Thank you for that information! I'll definitely look into it! =)

Oh, I had looked at that tutorial before as well! The only problem is that I don't know if the PVC sheets can be shaped into curves easily, and I don't own the tools necessary to cut the thicker sheets (I heard saws/drills are better and utility knives won't cut it? But I could be wrong). But I'll be sure to look for thinner PVC sheets, so I can cut them. Thanks!

Other than the link posted below your post, I do believe the hat he wears is called a "gatsby cap". Hope that helps if you don't want to purchase expensive, official merchandise!

That Kotetsu was you? I think I saw you at the con and I was so excited to see T&B cosplay at such a small con! Unfortunately I didn't have my camera and you disappeared pretty quickly, but your costume was very good!

You can always ask the specialists or someone from the store you buy it from? I guess you could find PVC at a hardware store or a speciality store so that the people there can help you with any questions with handling the PVC

Yep. That one was me. I was the only T&B cosplayer there that day. I really wish there was a Barnaby cosplayer there. :c

Aww. I would have stayed around if you called me out. :c

But thanks for the compliment. : D

Does anyone know where I can get something similar to Barnaby's glasses? I mean I found em on a japanese site but they were like $500 >_____>

so is it better to use PVC sheets for Wild Tiger and Bunny's armor? I was just gonna use cardboard XDDD /cheap

Barnaby's glasses are definitely possible to find, but like you said, are probably quite expensive. If you don't mind making them, I saw this tutorial-of-sorts on Pixiv that might help. It's pretty self-explanatory even if you don't understand Japanese. Just click on the picture to see the whole thing. =) http://www.pixiv.net/member_illust.p...st_id=19328520

I think if you don't care for the whole transparency thing, cardboard is totally fine and can look just as good if you take your time. I was planning to use craft foam originally since it's a lot more versatile and can handle curves. But cardboard is definitely the easiest (and cheapest) option. Go for PVC sheets if your wallet can handle it =)

For Barnaby's glasses, if you don't really care about accuracy that much (like you want it 100% exactly like it), maybe you can just try to find a pink, square lenses sunglasses instead?
I found a pair of pink, square, and rimless sunglasses on ebay, and I'm going to use it to cosplay Barnaby~ OwO/

About the armor, I have some questions, too...
Someone a few pages ago said that you can use acrylic... Is it easy to work with? and does it need any special tool to form shape/curve?

I don't think the smells that bad. I'm not sure if there are different types of acrylic or not but I one I used to use didn't have too much of a bad smell :S

Anyways~ Got my Ivan base wig yesterday, styled it today

Pao-lin has been done since Saturday. I may trim up her wig a little, especially on the bangs. I shall be positing pictures of it within the next two - three weeks, once I get back from my con.

Can't wait to see them. Pao-lin is one of my faves right under Kotetsu. (He's just so lovable. :c)
