Just as a note, anyone can send in designs for the Future Fashion Folio, even if you're not attending the con! So you can send in designs for next year's Folio if you want! (next year is in Phoenix, AZ so I imagine it's kind of far for most of us)

Next year: http://costumecon30.com/

Oh my gosh, this sounds super amazing. Hopefully my costuming skills will have improved enough by that point, that I won't feel too intimidated to make something cool. xD

Any idea when the pre-reg prices will start going up? It's way too soon to know what I'll be doing then...

Well, my boyfriend and I already picked what costumes to make. (A set of fantasy/historical, and a set of sci-fi). Revamping my Comtesse Seraphine costume and making a whole new thing of fanciness for him, and we'll finally start cracking on Quarian armour. Complete with arduino kit-induced LED's, vocoders and various other cool stuff. Good thing we have three years to do it. ^_^U

Make sure to get your main costumes done in plenty of time so you can do the Fashion Folio and/or Single Pattern! I always want to do them but often end up too rushed to do more than one costume per CC.

KakeraのTsuki: Not sure exactly right now but it usually goes up every 6 months, so sometime in the fall it'll go up to $70.

It is most excellent that Costume Con is coming to Toronto.

Perhaps I should start working on a new costume if I find the time. I would like to attempt something more complex and difficult this time; set the bar higher for myself. I suppose I have my assortment of mascot, cyborg, and giant robot costumes to choose from.

O.O Where can tickets be purchased? I've got to start designing a costume =D I'm thinking something fantasy.. with a lot of crystals.. After fanexpo this year, I'll put all my cosplay funds into this
Does it have to be a character? Can it be a totally original design? I have a few ideas already.. =) This will be epic.

kuroi_shi: PM me for info on sending in your registration fee.

As for costumes, ANYTHING goes. Both recreation (from movies, games, books, anime, historical sources etc.) or completely original designs are welcome; in fact there are always a lot of original designs at CC. I encourage you to look at past Costume-Cons to get an idea of what to expect:

Costume-Con 26 homepage: http://www.cc26.info/
Gallery of all past Costume-Cons: http://www.costume-con.org/gallery2/main.php

And it's not all SRS BZNS as you'll see in the galleries; there's a lot of bad puns, hilarious mashups, etc.

One other thing to keep in mind is that people there won't have seen any of your costumes, probably, so you can also wear older costumes in the halls and they'll be fresh and new to most people!

I'm super excited!! I thought I'd have to shell out the money for travelling to the states, but I'm glad it's going to be in Canada in a few years. Really looking forward to workshops and seeing everyone's costumes

We are still deciding on which hotel is best for our needs, will let you all know once it's settled.

Likewise with the dates; CC is usually mid-late April to early May.

Costume-Con runs officially from Friday to Monday (Monday is usually a half-day for programming with a dead-dog party in the Con Suite), but there are usually additional tours and off-site activities on Thursday, Monday and/or Tuesday.
OMG SO AWESOME!

Is there a hotel big enough for this?

Darn you beat me to posting this! ;D LOL!

Indeed, there are all these things happening and MUCH MORE. There will be more contests being announced as things develop. We have lots of things in the work for this convention. Also we will be announcing openings for fan tables, the art show (traditional art + costumes & props), room party contest, meetups, and more.

We are still looking to fill a few spaces on the con-com as well, so it's not to late to get involved in the rocking 2014 Costume Con in Toronto Canada.

As well we will be selling special discounted memberships at Anime North this year, so save yourself a bundle off the at-the-door price by buying early. (memberships are fully transferable).

Thank you for your enthusiasm. I'm fully expecting our Canadian costumers to ROCK THIS CON!

- Sci-Fi/Fantasy Masquerade (the type of masquerade we're all used to)
- Historical Masquerade (can be serious recreations, or funny interpretations; last night there were no fewer than three separate "Baby Got Bustle" jokes with 1800s dresses)
- Future Fashion Folio/Show, where anybody can send in original designs, and those attending the con can make any design they wish and display them in a fashion show
- Single Pattern Contest, where 2-3 commercially available patterns are chosen and you use the pattern as a starting point to make anything you wish
- Doll contest both for doll costumes and handmade dolls
- dozens of panels and workshops on costuming
- dealer's room with costume supplies, patterns, accessories, beads etc.
- A Friday night themed party
- off-site tours and activities before and after the con
- meeting new friends who are just as crazy about costumes as you are!

We'll be working on getting a website up and running when we get home (I'm still at the hotel!) but spread the word! We had a fantastic reception at our Canadian-themed party last night and everyone here is really looking forward to come visit us in Toronto! I'm so excited!
