I have been experimenting with some blur effects and I thought it looked good with this photo.

I'd like a critique of it over all and if the effect supports it. This is the original I took

I think the effect works overall for that picture.
It looks kinda cheesy, but in this case, I don't think that's a bad thing.

I'm not a photographer, but I'm a pokemon fan, so looks good! I remember the cheesy effects on my old pokemon cards, lol. The only thing is that Alakazam's face looks a little blurry and unclear. Now, I'm not a photographer, but is there any way to make his face sharper, but keep the blurriness around his face?

Yeah i'll fix that. The original photo if you can see is sharper so i'll just erase more of the "blur" layer around his face.

Is it Alakazam?
If it is about blur effect I think it looks ok as the Pokemon uses psychical attack here. ^^
I'm not sure what to think about cosplay, maybe because I'm not sure which Pokemon it is(Because it seems to be Alakazam but he looks slightly different). ^^'

Yeah, if there was any way to just keep the cosplayer in focus, but everything else wonky, that would look better. (:
