There's a very large number of cosplayers from Brooklyn that are not active on Cosplay.com. The best place to meet them is at AnimeNext in Somerset, NJ and NYCC/NYAF in october

I agree with you. It's boring from time to time cosplaying alone. It's nice to meet new people and befriend them.

of course its fun to meet people! Its what makes it more fun. I have yet to really find a "group" or whatever they are called but i hope sometime in the near future i can. I want to be able to experience as much as i can as a new cosplayer and all.

That makes both of us. I wanted to find a group of friends who cosplay and make a cosplay group.
So far my total amount is 1. Me. Dx

Brooklyn such a lonely cosplayer hell. ;-;
All of New York City is a lonely cosplayer hell. Everyone seems to be either god-tier (fashion students, professional designers/seamstresses, etc) or "ZOMG guys let's cosplay at the CHINESE NEW YEAR PARADE and the MALL and RUN AROUND SCREAMING LIKE IDIOTS and making you ASHAMED TO BE SEEN WITH US" tier.

The first group is too insular and cool for my tryhard self, the second group ends up being all "hey Chilmark join our cosplay group! You can make the costumes, and we can wear them!" Feels bad, man. I wish I could host IRL tutorials for new cosplayers who want to learn to make costumes :/ Just simple stuff, like how to alter mass-produced costumes to fit better, or choosing materials for props.

It'll have to wait until after Otakon, I'm drowning in costumes ATM (already been up and working for three hours T___T)

There's a few cosplay groups on meetup.com.
check them out.
As for me, I live in Jamaica, Queens.
Used to live in Brooklyn though.
