I Need help with posing .

So, I cannot come up with any ideas. I've tried the mirror trick and I've asked friends, but I still have no ideas. I'm cosplaying as a human Android version of GLaDOS, this weekend.

I really need some ideas.

The character is evil, not exactly sane, and in some ways a seductress .

Can anyone help me with some ideas.

Try putting a twist on some of these and see how you like them.

lol I know how you feel, I cosplayed last year as Len and I didn't have a Rin with me either.
Yet Another offered really good advice, having a prop too makes posing a lot easier.

I'm going to cosplay Matryoshka Gumi, but I interpret her part in the song a lot differently from everyone else, so my poses would be a little more off the wall and sort of darker.

Ah man, too bad I didn't read this on time!
A few pictures were taken when I was accidently looking slightly right/left from the camera and they really did look better than the ones where I looked into the camera :'D
Thank you though, I will definitely remember this for the shoot on sunday!

Think of the Borg Queen from Star Trek.
Malevolent evil.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but a human Android version of GLaDOS is an original costume. So when making an original costume there should be some key parts of the costume that help it communicate the look you're trying to achieve. For example, think of Jill Valentine's heart ruby from RE5, or Yuna's wand/staff from FFX. Once you identify the key parts of your costume that scream GLADOS, try to think of ways to highlight those features in a photo. If there is a logo or ornament on your chest, then try a pose where you lean forward with your hands drawing attention to that part of your costume. Since it's an android, you might have visible seams going along the side of your leg and arms, so try a pose that shows off these details, like a side standing pose or a squatting pose with a single leg extended.

If you're missing these details in your costume, then what exactly signifies it as a GLADOS cosplay? Maybe you should make a little cake that you can carry and make that the subject of the pose. Maybe you can make a little companion cube and pose with that as well.

Here is an example of a very elaborate Glados cosplay, but it just gives you an idea of what i'm talking about. See how she holds the prop? Her pose and hands draw attention to the companion cube, highlighting it perfectly. Just try to find what details make your cosplay special, and think of poses that best highlight those special traits of your costume.

That would only be successful for photographers doing a close up shot. If you want a full body pose, then I suggest doing a proposal pose where one of your knees is on the ground with your left hand over your heart and your right hand is extending while holding the rose in it. As if you're proposing to someone and offering them a rose.

What about this? It's what I always think of when I think of Flan. (so it may be really obvious?)

I agree with what TykeJack said.
And your rose doesn't have to stay perfectly vertical, too. Your body move to the sides a little, and use the stem of the rose to complement the outline of your face/cheeks. You can even cut it and put it in your hair. Whatever you feel like to. Just try the different poses in front of the mirror.

I've found that when you're running out of time for finding poses (when I am photographing) I will google image the character and hit filesize:medium and large and go with the two or three most common ones - those are usually the most recognizable by the masses.
