^I was walking home from work a few weeks ago and there were a couple of teenage boys skateboarding my way. Well they saw me and whistled, then asked what school I went to when they got closer. I was like, "Um, I'm 24."
They were like, "EWW sorry" and skateboarded off laughing. :/

About the looking younger than you are thing, I was allowed to ride on a bus with a junior ticket when I was 18. Twice, to a con and back. XD I got to travel for 25 euros cheaper so I was happy. XD

I don't like being whistled at, called hot, sexy, or anything of that manner. I just think it's kinda gross.

The only compliments I dislike are those that are said to mask their true intent.

IE: Flattering your skill at things in order to get you fix other people's mistakes.

Now, now. Come the apocalypse they'll make fine mooks, minions, meat shields and emergency rations.

i get this one a lot too, and usually from people who are younger than me. my response is usually something along the lines of "how do you remember that? weren't you in diapers?"

i probably would have. i have had cashiers tell me they had to get their manager before they would ring up my alcohol i tell them to go right ahead, and even call the cops if they think it's necessary, so i can claim harassment

"same school as you... ten years ago" works as well as "i went to school with your mother/father". i love the look on their face when they realize, they look like they're going to puke

Remember many POCs, especially Black people, go through life getting constant messages, subtle and otherwise, that their hair and skin are different, bad, ugly, etc-- so it shouldn't be that surprising if sometimes a POC is suspicious of a compliment from a White person. At the same time, they can feel exoticized or fetishized when White people talk about their skin and hair, whether or not it's intended that way. Just something to bear in mind.

So someone today told me this after seeing one of my pictures.

"Wow. You do some impressive photoshop work on your pictures!"

I didn't photoshop anything other than make it brighter.
