Sealant

Looked in the FAQ, couldnt find anything. Searched, couldn't find anything. Could be using the wrong words. If I did, I'm sorry.

Anyone know of a good sealant to use that prevents sweating and make up running? My cosplay is all white and I don't want make up to run onto the coat, cuz that would be positively devastating, it being made of bridal satin and all

I've heard of the hair spray idea, but i was wondering if there were any actual sealants. I don't mind if they're expensive, I don't mind paying extra when it comes to the safety of my skin and eyes =]

http://m.sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P263504 i think this is what your looking for.
I don't know what you've tried, but for me primer and setting powder does the trick. I've heard mineral make-up is good for not running and rice paper (or tissue paper) can be used to dab off oil/ sweat without messing up your make-up.

Ben Nye has a product called "Final Seal" that is used for costuming make-up that's very good. Elf has something new called Mist and Set. It seems to work decently in my one experiment with it.

I have used final seal before, but my make up still rubbed off on clothing. I will try the mist and set and the urban decay as well. I guess I have lots of trial and errors to do before July!!!

I'm seconding the use the Urban Decay's "The All Nighter." It works like a charm, and sets your make-up in place all day. They also make a setting spray called "De-Slick" which cuts down on oil production.

I would also suggest using a primer. Agian, Urban Decay makes some awesome primers, especially for eyeshadow. Smashbox also makes a nice one for the face, and L'oreal makes a pretty good one, too.

I have used both of these kryolan products for face and body paint respectively, and they work well with little rub off - just make sure that you do not crease up your skin until it is totally dry or areas like the inside of your elbow can stick together and make your body paint go stripy.
