Death The Kid cosplay help (blazer/shoes/)

Ok well im going to a con coming up soon, and Im going as Near from Death Note ( http://x1800jake.deviantart.com/art/...play-211603551 ) and Death the kid. My Near is finished, but ive done some tweaks to the wig. Any ideas to make it better, go ahaid, but my Kid is not. I have no idea to go about getting a blazer to look like his.

Reference pic:

How should I end up making this blazer???

Also, for the shoes, whould just black shoes work, or should i wear dress shoes?

Thanks for your help. New to Cosplay.com so...

I would just get a plain black blazer and make the white rectangles and sew them on top. That is, unless you wanted to make the blazer, which I wouldn't recommend unless you're a very proficient sewer-- blazers can be tricky to make.
As far as I know, the shoes are plain black and don't have any designs on them. Since Kid wears a suit jacket and pants, I'd go for a plain matte black dress shoe. Anything too shiny will draw attention to the shoes. I'm not sure of your gender, but if you're male than chances are you already have something that could work. If you don't have anything like that, most if not all shoe stores that carry men's shoes should have something that could work. And if you're on a budget, check thrift stores.
Good luck with your Kid cosplay!
