I had sashimi for the first time about a month or so ago. It was pretty good, once I got over the raw fish thing XD

You should go get sushi. Supermarket kind is acceptable, as long as they have vegetarian rolls for me.

But if you get from Fatty Fish, I like the cucumber-avocado roll, and maybe an order of vegetable gyoza.

I like the tempura rolls but I always seem to get them when they've sat about for awhile and they get smooshy and unpleasant

Sashimi is pretty good but I can understand a lot of people being hesitant to eat it because it's raw.

Just to clear your mind a little more, for sashimi (and sushi in general) the fish is kept as a temperature so low that the bacteria is killed. So if you get your sashimi from a reputable restaurant it would be perfectly fine to eat it raw :3

I love cucumber roll, Philadelphia roll (salmon and cream cheese), and yam roll and yam tempura. God damn are yams delicious.

THANK YOU FOR THIS THREAD!!!

I was just discussing with a class that sushi overseas and in Japan are entirely different and they didn't believe me. Image search is blocked on the school computers and no printer at home ~ so I couldn't very well prove it.

These photos are going straight to the school printer and are getting slapped down on the front desk with a triumphant "See, I told you!" ^^

On the difference thing, I know I get looked at funny when I ate sushi with my fingers, then got an even more disbelieving look when I say "ACTUALLY, it ISN'T traditional to eat it with chopsticks"... (That is true, I hope?:P)
