According to social security, for 2 years in a row, the most popular baby names among girls and boys are....

Boys: Jacob (12 years in a row

Girls: Isabella (2 years in a row)

I want to give my children Irish names, because my family is very Irish and most of us have Irish names too.

Girls: Morrigan, Ciera (or Kiera), Moira. Also like Olivia, Arya, and Brynn, but they're not Irish so maybe for a middle name? I dunno.
Boys: Cieran (or Kieran), Seamus, Liam

I like the name Jacob, personally. I'd name my kid that, references to whatever fandom don't matter. Though, having a random Jacob amongst all the fancy Italian-named kids would be... ah...

For my name my parents fell in love with Cassandra, but being that it was Greek (Trojan) and my biological father's heritage was full Irish (McWilliams) they Always called me by Cassie instead (from the Irish name Cassidy).
That was their way to include heritage and the name they loved~ Just an idea!

anyway. I'd like to name my kids (if any at all...) unique names, but not so unique it burdens them with spelling it for other people every time they meet someone.

I won't say the first cause well. i dunno. i just wont. *cough* other than that i suck at chosing likeable boys names. I guess I like Dante, but people'd say i were old fashioned.

for a girl I like the name Sophie, but that's pretty generic these days. I also like Lola, quite unfortunately. Claire and Shae are also pretty names I suppose.

I had a friend called Edward who hated his name when Twilight boomed. He also disliked the nicknames Ed and Eddy. So I called him Double D. Then he complained that it sounded like I was talking about bra sizes. Dammit, there is only so much I can do for you!
