Neko cosplay
Ok so I am headed to Otakon and am working on a great Mey-rin cosplay but want something else in addition for those times I just don't want to put on the same dress again... is Neko appropriate attire for general con attendance?
Help a newbie out? Thanks! ![]()

Hey! I'm going to Otakon too! C:
Relating to your question, I don't completely understand it. Are you asking if wearing/being a neko is acceptable or well-received in conventions? Because if so it certainly is! You don't have to worry about it!

I think it can be super cute, but if you're just adding cat ears to normal street clothes some may find it lazy. I recommend at least making sure your outfit is well coordinated, and accessories like a tail, whiskers, and paws make it look especially put together...and are super cute!

My first cosplay was a general neko, complete with collar with a humongous golden bell, a thick long tail, paws for feet and hands and giant cat ears over my own in true anime style. I loved every minute of it!
Course, halfway through I had to remove loose threads from my paws - little did I know about complicated and advanced sewing techniques like, oh, hems... did I mention I never touched a needle and thread before this cosplay? So I messed up (terribly O_o'), but I learned something that day, and I still had fun! And if I had not tried it, I would have never gotten into the wonderful world that is cosplay! So yeah, go neko without any fear ^_^ |

Catgirl outfits are to conventions as jeans are to the rest of the world: nobody will shun you, but you definitely won't make any waves. I'm going to Otakon, too--IT'S SO CLOSE!! ^.^
