There are different types of satin, but there is a nice weight satin that looks rich, not cheap. It is Crepe Back Satin, this satin will give you the flow that the skirt needs. It comes in beautiful colors and is will look nice.

I was wondering if you guys can help me. I am sorry I keep asking questions everywhere, but I am still very new to sewing and I really want this cosplay to look nice. Anyway, I am doing Petra from Arcana Heart. I have been looking forever for cosplay references for her to get an idea of what fabric to use but no one has cosplayed her. Can I have some suggestions of what would be the best fabric to make these size pleats or her overall outfit? I realized very quickly that jersey is not it! lol

I need help with fabric not for an outfit but for the bag that goes with the cosplay. Here's a reference picture, I was thinking perhaps suede but I really don't know.
Heck, anyone have any suggestions for what to make her brown armwarmers and brown shirt thing out of? I'm not as worried about those two parts but suggestions would be nice!

My problem here is the skirt. i believe i will have to dye it to get that look, and that would be okay, but how about the ragged edges? is there a fabric that wont get all the threads loose and digusting looking once i cut it in that shape and dye it? What would you recomend?

Suede for the bag would be super legit and look really nice. As for the brown arm thingies, perhaps just a nice cotton. You could even do cotton for the brown part of the shirt, but you could even do that out of suede as well to bring all the suede full-circle.

What kind of fabric for the blue jacket and shorts? I've thought about velvet, but it's too tough for me to work with and expensive and HOT. I want to get a rich, intense feeling... Another picture.

Hm, honestly based on the pictures I don't think it looks like velvet at all. It seems more smooth and shiny than velvet usually looks. What about a nice stretch satin (not spandex)? Something like this could have the richness you're looking for, with just a touch of stretch to help with the fit, and moving around in it.

A low-lustre satin might work, though those are usually going to hit the "hot" department as well, being synthetics. You could also look for a cotton sateen -- it'll give you the richness of a faint sheen without the warmth of a poly satin.

Hi guys! I'm working on a Belle's blue dress from Beauty and the Beast. Originally I was planning on using a high quality linen, or a cotton, but after googling up her parks pictures I decided to go for that fabric. The fabric has a slight sheen to it, and drape that's making me think it isn't a cotton. So I was wondering if you guys could help?

Hello! I'm planning to sew Sora's costume from KHII.

I want to use a kind of fabric like pvc or something shiny, pvc is *too* shiny. Sora's clothes aren't that shiny, they're more dull-ish (Or at least, in my opinion). Aaaanyways, I want to use this kind of fabric:
