So, I really want to make a fem!Prussia cosplay, but I dont know what type of fabric I should use for her jacket. Im using a pattern for a pirate coat, if that helps. I dont want it to be too hot, becuase Im planning on making it for Otakon (which is in August) but I still want it to be sturdy enough.... Any suggestions?

If you want to cheat use a (thin if you are lining) Jean fabric. or a Jean- blend fabric. Don't fight with any cottons. You wont have enought stiffness to look legit.
If you need any help making this coat or find that you cannot make it yourself. PM me. Remember to use a Jean needle or a leather needle because you will hurt your machine or the fabric to use a regular one. And maybe some thiker coats and clark thread.

I don't want to spend a huge amount of money on fabric so my first choice was broadcloth but I'm afraid it will be to thin and cheap looking. Then someone suggested quilters cotton or kona cotton. What do you guys think?
Joann's Casa Collection is probably something you'll want to check out. Yes, a lot of the fabric in that line is shiny (some of it is satin, after all), but you can always sew on the 'wrong' side of the fabric for a more matte colour! The reverse side of crepe satin might be what you want-- it's intended for dresses, comes in a bunch of colours, and doesn't have that shine on the backside!

Links are bad.
Judging by other characters I've seen linked though, I'm guessing the outfit looks semi-military and probably some sort of overcoat.
Go through the suiting section. Many suiting materials are much lighter than they look as there are a lot of polyester wool blends which will be tolerable to wear in an air conditioned hall in the summer.

Hammurabi dress

So I need help deciding on what kind of fabric to use for this cosplay...I know there are some knitted materials that have the ribbed lines but I'm not sure if there are any with these big of ribs...I really don't want to have to sew pieces together to make the lines going down the dress if I can help it...so if you have any ideas of where I should look or what kind a fabric specifically I should try please let me know.

Thanks!

I also need to find some shirt fabric possibilities (not sure yet what color we're making the shirt, just looking for fabric names and sources on that one.) What fabric should a bow-tie be made from?
Is there a good source of faux leather out there?
I guess nobody else can find purple pinstripe suiting either. meh...

If anybody looks at this, I was also looking for a white fabric suitable for a shirt with pintucks and puffed sleeves. (For Harley)

And I still have really no idea what to buy for a bowtie.

I know it might suck, but you could try to paint the stripes on yourself??

This looks like a good Joker purple
And if you're looking for a white blend fabric that would be good for pintucking/ still be drapeable for the sleeves and bib you're talking about, Try a sateen or a Shirting Cotton

I really need help!! Cosplaying Neko from Project K and I need fabric like this!

Any of that I find is either WAY to expensive (like, $20 a metre) or the shipping to Australia is at least $30, or doesn't ship to Australia at all!

It's like minky sherpa wool, but ughhhh I'm really stressing. I can't find anything.

Unfortunately your link pictures don't really show the dress well enough to make any suggestions. it's all just white on white :/

Hey hey, I'm looking for some suggestions for the white dress part of Zelda's dress and her tabbard!

(For the vest I'm using microsuede.)

So, the white dress part I was thinking about using a charmeuse, but I'm not sure how shiny I want it to be. I want it to flow like butter and catch the light but not necessarily look costumey.

And for the tabbard I need something easy to paint, but very sturdy. I will probably have it lined on the back with a matte fabric matching the vest color, but I'm not sure what would be best to paint on/iron/starch straight?

Diana League of Legends Fabric Help!

Hi everyone! This will be my first cosplay in over 5 years! I'm looking to do the Dark Valkyrie Diana skin from League of Legends. I'll be making the armor out of Worbla, but I'm having difficulty deciding what to make her blue/greenish bodysuit out of.

If ANYONE could make ANY recommendations, it'd be such a great help! Thanks so much! <3
