For the helmet, I've heard you guys mention gutting a BMX helmet to use
for this costume. Have you considered a leather skull cap? I like the half-
mask respirator idea, and I may have found the solution for your "goggle" dilemma.

Not only do these offer some what pointed tips, thick frame around the
lenses, but they also give you the extra ridge just above the nose that
you see on Beltway's mask.

I'd say the most difficult thing with Beltway is that gimp leg of his.
I've been looking around at all sorts of knee and ankle braces, and
nothing I've found so far comes even remotely close to it, and the
price is outrageous.

I did however, have an idea for the odd spiral pattern in the center
of the thing. Dryer tubing. It has the same coiled, ribbed look to it
as Beltway, though the spacing of each rung may not be authentic.
Find it in white and paint it up to the desired color. The only problem
with it that I can think of is getting it to form right. I guess a person
could cut it in half and then carefully mark the outline of their calf so
that you can cut it to the desire specifications.

I thought of dryer tubing myself also for the inside, but the rest of it will take some work to build and I'm not quite sure how to go about it yet. I could do it really cheap with some plastic like cut up PVC or wire and foam paper, the PVC/wire helping to support the foam so it isn't too flismy, which would work well for the upper part and the rings, and then have it supported by some actual PVC or painted wood strips parts to connect to the foot, of course then having it be attached in two parts so it can fit around the leg for easy removal.

Of course the best thing would be too do like molds and have something fiberglassed, but I have no clue how to do that stuff lol

Well my friends I also joined the beltway line.

Now for vest I pick the following:\
http://www.ebay.com/itm/130642124074...ht_4795wt_1112

for the leg I'll be using a lot of tubing. I'll do my best by taking pictures piece by peace to see if i'll help you all. for the helmet it is advised to use the respirator, mean goggle combo since is more closely resemble him than the m45 mask and it also is cost efficient.

The leg for now is a combination of 3 wide tubing, 2 pipes cut in half moons to make it 4, wish will also help save space to use the accordion tubing for the rest of the leg. like i said this is a rough description but as soon as i start working I'll share.

Hey everyone been following this thread from the beginning and been working on Beltway for the last few months and just wanted to show my solution to Beltway's unique gas mask http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b1...20120728_3.jpg Far from done though, still gotta fiberglass and bondo this thing and then figure out how to get the eyes to light up and still be able to see.

The file was a commission. Let me ask my friend and I'll send you the contact information about the Beltway mask.

That would be great, thanks. Even as a commision job I'd be interested in looking at it.

Hey everyone a little preview of what I wore this past weekend http://vraxx.smugmug.com/photos/i-5x...-5xDr8Pq-L.jpg It's not done yet and yeah I know I don't have the big collar for the vest, or my grenades, or the correct helmet...it's still a work in progress but for what I had damn it didn't look too bad at all and, plus it didn't hurt having the Wolf Pack with me.
