Shinsengumi outfits.

I have looked on the wikipedia site about Shinsengumi and it showed pretty awesome looking clothes. But the links they gave about the people that were in the Shinsengumi, well, they weren't wearing the clothes and I can't seem to find them anywhere else. I guess what question would be, what kind of material do you think the outfits would have been made up back then?

If the material can't be found much anymore, what kind of material would be the closest to what they would have had in that time period?

I believe the original shinsengumi haori were made of hemp. That can be tricky to find now, so a sturdy cotton or linen should suit just fine. All of them take dye well and have enough natural texture to give you that "real clothes" look.
Workin' on:
Tom Petty [Final Fantasy XV] (9%)
Bondage Finch [Bondage Finch Adventures] (12%)
Your Mother [Debbie Does Dallas XXIII] (8%)
