^ haha nice nathancarter. The rim light could have been modified with a flag or snoot?

Photo from this past weekend at IGN IPL5 in Vegas, almost all League of Legends cosplayers. Did a photoshoot with Elise since it was the first I've ever seen

Thanks! Yep, the background is real, it was on level 3 of the Cosmopolitan. I was moving the chair all around trying to find a 'darker' background and that's what I settled on lol

I like your Ranka photos, she has a good expression that fits Ranka

I wasn't quite able to pin down how you got the rim light on your cheek, but not on your temple or the edges of the camera. And I don't have a coat with the right collar.
That is quite an nice cosplay of me Nathan!

The rim on my cheek that missed my temple might be due to having the lamp that was lighting me from behind a bit more closer in angle to my headm and also having a bit longer hair-cut behind my ears, and my head turned slightly more, making sure the rim light did not light my nose.

I am flattered you made this! What made you think to do it?
;-D

Does anybody else want to imitate someone's avatar?

The comment that you made before, in response to my Santa:

... challenge accepted!

I always find it a fun photographic challenge to try to mimic other photos. Breaking down the the light, the colors, the processing, the posing... how was it done? Can I replicate it, and if so, how precisely? It's an entertaining learning exercise.

I've done a few others in the past - my wife as Jane Fonda's Barbarella, and myself as a character from the mobile game Please Stay Calm. My next attempt is going to be my buddy Mark in some of Jim Morrison's iconic poses.

As I scrolled from bottom up I stopped and said "Holy shit, that looks like Jane Fonda but I've never seen her look so good..." Then I read it's your wife. Well played sir...well played.

Lately I've been doing some general lighting practice outside before the snow starts falling (getting a D600 helped with motivation too ). The easiest subject is the one that is always available, so I just use that (me), haha

Thanks! I've got a couple more of her.. I don't know what her fascination with Barbarella is, but I ain't complaining. She made the white outfit as a surprise for Megacon this year, and we (working together) made the green one for Dragon*Con. Haven't done any dedicated photoshoots with that outfit yet; I want to make another gun to go with it, probably the Mini-Missile Projector which gets the most action in the movie. (the tube gun shown with the white outfit was never actually in the movie, just the promo photos).

As I was leaving the Robo Toy Fest last Sunday, I decided to take the opportunity to attack a Transformer Autobot called Bumblebee, as Autobot, Rescue Ratchet waits nearby to help the loser of this fight.

Cool! Presumably you're holding the remote in one hand? I've seen you post a few others in this style.

Got any more shots of that retro Ratchet? He was one of my favorites when I was a kid.
