I hate when people say they're giving any more than 100%. Like, "I'm gonna give it 110%!" I know their intentions, but.... it only goes up to 100%! Once you cross that line, open that barrier, where does the scale ever end? It's ridiculous.

Or when people on competition shows go "I REALLY want to win. I want to win more than anything. I REALLY REAAAALLY WANT TO WIN." Yes. That's cool. The other 11 people on the show with you want to win too. Didn't you notice?
Just. Once. Justonce do I need someone to go on a show like that and get in the camera and say, "Yeah I don't really care if I win. I'm kind of along for the ride.. I actually followed some chick with jello shots. I'm not entirely sure how I got here. Where am I?" |

Atleast when used after someone has called them out on their BS or even merely disagreed with them. They seem to think the right to free speech allows them to say whatever they want without a bad response.

 I read the news about beatings, shootings, murders, etc. that happen everyday, and when they are caught and brought before a judge, they plead.. "not guilty." You did the crime, the evidence is stacked against you, and yet you have the nerve to plead that you didn't do it.. That's just something I'm sick of hearing coming from these suspects and their $$-grubbing lawyers.

I don't necessarily hate it, but I say these two things a lot and I can't stop and I wish I could.

ugh, I cannot STAND the misuses of the word 'Literally'....! It's fine if you're using it right but.... come on...
I was watching one of those shows about messy houses and the idiot ditsy host said "Oh my GOD! you are LITERALLY drowing in MAIL!" and i felt like through a shoe at the tv. SHE IS NOT LITERALLY DROWING IN MAIL YOU STUPID IDIOT! also in another show, someone did like 5 loads of laundry and said "I have literally washed the past out of me!" er. no you havent.

People who throw non-english words in their day to day English. Especially uncommon languages like Japanese and and stuff like that.
