You should check out Youmacon in Detroit, MI (Nov 3-6, 2011) or Shuto Con in Lansing, MI (March 16-18, 2012).

You should come to Nebraska. They have an anime convention called Anime Nebraskon held in Omaha, Ne. This will be its eighth year running but it only has about 2000 attendees. Its a small con but has big dreams. I would really suggest getting a hold of some of the staff members about this convention. I know one thing they are trying to do is get the non-anime community aware of the sub-culture of anime within Nebraska.

Recently started viewing your vids, very, very nice indeed.

You might enjoy Gencon Indy in August. Pretty big convention (over 36,000 attendees last summer), very welcoming to any cosplay theme or franchise, air conditioned and recently remodeled huge building that they are just starting to fully utilize, and every business in the area has started saying "Welcome Gencon" when it rolls around because they just can never forget us (even if they wanted to). There is also a Star Wars themed convention a few months earlier in May, so a lot of those people return in full form, but I have seen everything from Ghostbusters to Naruto to Yip Yips to Wonder Woman and a lot of stuff in between. There's a HUGE costume parade on Saturday that always leads everyone following to a contest with different categories. It's always a lot of fun, and I'm pretty sure if you're interested you can youtube some of the parades and a nice slideshow of several pictures.
