Bum rolls?

I hope this is the right place to put this...

I recently got a costume commissioned, reference pictures here. It's 100% complete and should be shipped out to me today. In the pictures that the commissioner had sent to me, one of the pictures was taken with a "bum roll", which isn't going to be included in the package.

So I guess I have a few questions. What is a bum roll? Would I be able to buy one, and if so where and how much would it cost roughly? If I can't buy one, how difficult is it to make? I'm incredibly low on time; I'm going on a family vacation for most of next week and the convention will be the weekend after we get back (fun times!), so that only leaves this weekend for me to work on it.

EDIT: Wow, so I fail for not using the search tool properly. "Bumroll" should be one word, not two separate words that are three letters each (which slips through the search tool).

For anyone stumbling across this in the future, I found this page and I'll likely be using that to make the bumroll over the weekend if I need to, it doesn't look too difficult.

I'm curious though, is it possible to buy this in a store in person? At a fabric or a costume store, maybe? Or is this a pipe dream?

You can make one on the cheap. I use leftover fabric to make the one I use for my Red Queen cosplay. They are basically a crescent shaped pillow.

Were you can buy

Every time I go to the thrift store I see bum rolls. Bum rolls everywhere, all colors! People are always getting rid of neck pillows. Just sew ribbons to the "points" of the crescent and you're off!

A neck pillow bum roll may be a bit softer than you'd like, but that's easy to fix by opening a seam a little bit and jamming more stuff in there.

Ah, this is brilliant! And something that I can do on the way home from work easily!

You don't want an Elizabethan bumroll, that is for Elizabethan gowns, not Victorian inspired outfits. It will be the wrong shape and style, completely.

The Elizabethan bum roll goes around your entire waist, like a crescent moon of padding. You really don't want the added bulk to your front and sides, just the back. You need to make a bustle pad/pillow.

Here is a link for a more Victorian pillow bustle. This will give you more the shape you desire.

^ Ah, I hadn't realized you posted here too. I responded via PM, but just wanted to say here (for any future readers), that this makes a lot of sense.

The weekend is rapidly spinning out of control in terms of business, so it's looking more likely that I won't have time to make a bustle pillow/pad. But I'll definitely spend some time researching today so that if I do have time I'll know what to do. If I don't have time, it'll have to be an adjustment that I make for some later conventions.

Unless I can just buy a pillow and modify it by adding string/etc to make a waist band. That would be good too.
