I don't think my name has any importance to it, except that it was the name of a friend of my parents..... who was a guy. And I'm a girl. And apparently, if I had been born a guy, I would've gotten the same name anyway. It's Hebrew for "praised", so that makes no sense right now. XD
My middle name means "God is my judge" in Hebrew, which now makes me think my mom and dad like Hebrew names. XD

My mother and father decided to go for a naming scheme for me and my sister- we were named after their middle names. My mother's middle name is Jo, so my sister got a name with 'Jo' in it.
I, on the other hand, got a variation of my father's middle name, 'Ray'. My name is Raeanne, pronounced Ray-ann. It's a decent name, I suppose.  |

My parents had other names they liked, but they liked Lea the best. It was pretty simple as that, besides the whole initial thing (see earlier post)

Kyle. like the mans name. protip : I get its cool and hip to try and be all progressive, but for the love of god dont force your ideals on your children. especially when it comes to names. people ask me if I spelled it wrong, am I SURE it kyle? and I tend to get laughed at. high school was fun :-/

My mom thought my name sounded peaceful, and my name means 'poet', so that just added to the appeal to her.
I was almost named Willow or Caitlin.

I was named after my dads ex girlfriend... kinda. I was named after one of her girls, Jordan. My mom also liked the name... but not the meaning so much. But my dad's an ass.
I love my name though, I havent met alot of female Jordan's spelled with an A... usually its Y.

I was named Catherine after my maternal grandmother.
If I was born a boy, I would have been named Peter after my paternal grandfather. Coincidentally...I ended up marrying a guy named Peter. |

I was named after my Grandmother, her name was Kathy, or at least that's what we called her. My mother didn't want it to be confusing if we were in the same room together and someone calls out "Kathy!". So my Mother choose to name me the full name, Kathryn. To prevent being confused if I got the nickname "Kathy" I was often called "Katie"
Though, if I was a male I would've been named Thomas. |

I almost ended up a Crystal. Mom was trying to go biblical, but I think she missed the mark slightly in her thinking that Jeanette was French for Joan (as in Joan of Arc)... as far as I can tell anyway. They decided to give me dad's initials and Jeanette was the first name dad would agree to.

My name is Stephanie. My parents almost named me Anne, but they wanted to keep looking. They found the name in a baby book and thought it was beautiful. It means "Beautiful crown". I personally love my name and I think it suits me very well :0
