Fun fact; many female names in the USA were originally (and often still are) boy's names in the rest of the world.

Mine is a unisex name, and most female names have a male equivalent too.

Ah, the tale of my identity,~
my name now isn't the same as when I was born - I was named Candler at birth, because it was my mum's maiden name. They had it changed to Kandler when I was 2 because apparently it was annoying to have people mistake me for 'Chandler'. My nickname before the spell change was CC, but that doesn't work anymore. My name was going to be Piper or Piano. I would've like Piano Melody 10x better than Kandler, but oh well. All 3 of my names are locations in USA xD If I was male, my name would've been Presley [my brother took that as his middle name because my parents love Elvis. My brother was named Keaton so that the 2 family children were K babies.]

My first name is Emily, my middle name is Adelaide. I was named after both of my Great Grandparents on my Dad's side. My Grandma's Mom was Emily, my Grandpa's Mom was Adelaide.

My real name is Elizabeth. There's not really a story behind it, my parents just liked it. :P Lame. If they hadn't named me that, I would've been named Holly, which I actually would've thought was cool. I've never met someone named Holly before. They claim they just KNEW I was gonna be a girl so they didn't have any boy names picked out.

I don't like my name though (TOO MAINSTREAM YO) so I go by Zizi, which I found as an alternate(?) name for Elizabeth in a baby name book. I do like how my middle name (Anne) is spelled though.

Ryan, I can't remember why exactly, probably just because it's an Irish name and my mum is from Ireland. My Middle name is more interesting though because it's my dad's first name, Paul. And his middle name was his dad's first and so and so forth. I just think it's a nice little tradition we have.

If I was a boy, I was going to be called Jack or William.

As for if I were a girl (which I am.) I was going to be called Mercedes or Stephanie initially. Thank god they changed their minds. I don't mind the name but It just wouldn't have suited me I reckon. So they chose a family name instead so I am called Isabella. (Although I don't particularly like that name for me anyway.)

could be worse. If my friends were boys (we had this discussion a while ago.) they were going to be named things like Bill, Humphry and Oswald.
lovely names, but a bit old fashioned for this day and age in my opinion.

Without giving too much away, I was named after a popular soap opera character in the 1980s.

For my first name I'm named after my dad, but to avoid confusion I've always goneby my middle name. For that my mom wanted to call me Casey, but no one else in the family liked it so she tried to be sneaky. They decided upon Kris and with my last name beginning with a C she hoped to call me by my last two initials as a nickname. K.C. I'm glad it never stuck. One a side note there was a girl on my soccer team that I didn't like when I was in kindergarten, I have no idea why, it was many years ago. Her name was Casey and I was horrified when I realized that my initials said aloud was her name.

my name is Kyle....and Im a girl. FML. my parents wanted to "break the gender mold" and now I pay for it. 15 years of KYLES A BOYS NAME
You could always tell people it's a long e at the end and go by Kylee

My parents were not the most creative bunch. They wanted to name me Mike but everyone was naming their kids Mike at the time. So they got all exotic and crazy and named me Mark. I would change my name if it wasn't such a hassle.

My brother, who was five at the time of my birth, named me. He was learning to read and would read the baby name book my mother had and picked out my name. I actually really love my name and am grateful to him because I was going to get saddled with "Beth Ann Fosheé -Lastname-" to stick both my grandmothers' names into mine. My name is unique and doesn't involve a bizarre double last name.

If I was a boy, I was going to be Bobby. I have no idea why.
