I have two of the most common male caucasian names lol.

First - Adam - My father wanted me named after the whole "first man thing" because I was the first boy. I have an older sister and a younger brother.

Middle - Michael - My father's name.

I also have an extremely common last name as well, but thats too much information to be putting on a site lol. Lets just say I run into way more people than I want to that share my first and last name, its kind of creepy at times. Hell, there is another Adam (same last name) that works at my company in the California branch. I get emails meant for him constantly...

My dad was extremely nerdy and named me after two famous women in history. I'd rather not elaborate on which ones, but they are both kick-butt females and that was kind of awesome. Always had a chance to grin when they came up during history class, haha!

Dad also insisted that "I needed a challenge" when I was younger (IE, more letters to write on my paper in kindergarten >.>) and gave me names that barely fit in standardized testing boxes. It always takes me a while to bubble them, lol!

My parents loved the Celtic folk singer Loreena McKennit, so they named me after her.

I actually got my name because it's an old Irish tradition to have someone named Mary in the house to perform certain rituals on holidays. But apparently now variations of the name work too, and I got stuck with Molly. My parents didn't have a boy name picked out so it's a good thing I turned out to be a girl =P
I've never liked my name though. It's too easy to make fun of :/

Named after a Doctor Who companion. Really. And my mum also liked it because Tegan was a celtic goddess or something. Now I'm going and watching the older Dr Who episodes and twitch every time her name comes up-- I'm not used to somebody else with the same name. >_*

i seriously think my mom was just sitting there like "fuck, i'm pregnant" and picked a name she'd heard, not knowing its because everyone in those three years named their kid Samantha ar Samuel thus making my name stressful. my middle name was almost Stanaslova after my great grandmother but mom went with yet another common choice: Ann.

My first name comes from my grandmother's middle name, though Grandma thought I was named after Saint Cecilia.

I was almost named Grace, and my dad told my older sister once that he was going to name me "Claire Anette." Guess which instrument she played in high school band.

My name is Chetori. People usually pronounce it as Chitori or Shitori and would assume it's Japanese, until I tell them how it's actually pronounce. Apparently it's actually Persian and it means "how are you" I think.

Honestly my dad just wanted to spell my name with "che" instead of the usual "shi". The fact that it's Persian and sounds Japanese and pronounced completely different than what he was going for is just dumb luck. lol

My name is Ricky, but that's not my original name.

My original name is, Min-Shik Yoon.

I am originally from South Korea, and I changed my first name in an attempt to fit into American society better.

I pulled the name Rick out of a basket with 100s of random names.
