Memoirs of a Geisha. I hadn't seen but about half of it, so I borrowed it from a friend to finish it up. It was a good movie. Extremely long though.

Watched Bleach: Memories of Nobody. I'd give it 4/5 because I like the Bleach series and the animation was a step up from the series. Also saw Cars 2. I liked it, but not as much as the the first Cars movie. I'd still give it 4/5 since the animation is very good.

I had the random urge to watch Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. GOOD GAWDS I HATE THE BLONDE. The plot is already mediocre, but she goes and ruins it all. 2.5/5 (if it weren't for shirtless Harrison Ford, it would be 1.5/5)

Grace - 5/5

I wouldn't have even heard of this movie if I hadn't read an article about psychical reactions audience members had to movies. Some guy fainted during the birth scene.

Anyway, it's a horror film about a mother's undying devotion to her child, despite that the child is a monster. I also love how they leave what Grace is so ambiguous.

We Bought a Zoo

- i would definitly give that movie a 5/5 it so dramatical and heartwarming granted though if you had a family member die from an illness it might be a little more dramatical, but it is still worth watching.

It has some light comedy, minor curse words like about 5-6 times in total and is very charming.

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo

3/5 Dont get me wrong it was okay. It had action, mystery and some HA HA moments, BUT there was to much graphic situations. And when i say that i mean Sexual (It literally seemed pornographic at times) I think it could have done without all of that, but if you ignore that it was an okay movie.

WARNING: though, i don't like using this word, but there is a rape scene (but the chick ends up kick his *insert word8 later)

Yes girl with a dragon tattoo. I thought the remake was better than I thought it was going to be. Being an american remake of a swedish film only 2 years old I natrually had low expectations, but it was better than I thought.

However, its not without issues. The issue of sexual violence remains the same through out the orignal and remake. Debating whether you preffered the scene's depiction in the original or the remake is uterly pointless, they both portayed a horrific act in a way that uterly demonised the rapist and creates sympathy for the victim. Plus you'd be debating which rape scene you preffered in a film you sick fuck, whats wrong with you?! *ahem*
I thought for a moment that the remake of the film wasn't going to show us that scene, when he attacks her it cuts to a slow zoom out of the door. They could have easily used that moment to cut out the scene but they decided to cut back to it anywayWhether this is a good thing or not is entirely up to debate, I mean David Fincher isn't one known for cutting his films to agree with studios or audiences. The scene's inclusion didn't really add a huge amount to the character that couldn't have been implied otherwise, but then again would we have felt as sympathetic towards Lisbeth if we hadn't witnessed the whole act? Especialy considering what she does to him in revenge...

The film is still as exciting and intriguing as the original, while there is a more noticable visual sheen that comes with a Hollywood budget cosmetic differences are only minor. Infact the plot only differs significantly towards the end.

Which sort of marks the problem really. That the two films are so equal in quality and so alike in performance begs the question: Why did this film need to be remade? And that is a question that can't be ignored, frankly I don't think there's any way at all to significantly justify the remake of a film like this; the only reason really being the language barrier which frankly is no reason at all.

I've seen some people claim Rooney Mara did a better performance of Lisbeth Salander than Noomi Rapace. But I don't even see the distinction between their performances, they both do it so similarly. Though thats probably in all likelyhood due to it being Noomi Rapace's performance in the first place and Rooney's being ultimately a copy of that. Can you comend one person's efforts when the performance is essentially someone elses, being redone?

I liked the opening sequence, very James Bond. All slick oil and cables writhing into one another, its a rather unsetteling experience almost makes your skin crawl. And that combined with Trent Reznor and Karen O's cover of the imigrant song makes perfect. The best part of the whole film frankly.

I would recomend you see it for sure. But I could also recomend that you see the original aswell. Then you can make your own decision.

I preffer the original, but hey I'm a hipster film student, of course I'd preffer the foreign language version.

Don't get me wrong, i thought it was a good movie and regardless i thought the chick was AWESOME!! But if you are person who has yet to see the original and don't know much about the story you should take the precautions. Meaning if you don't like those situations like those beware ( Yes, i admit i have not watched the original and i don't like a ton of sex, so I simply look away)

Each person has their own opinion and were both entitled to that. I can see what you mean though (But that still doesn't change what i think)

Its a good movie, the remake is pretty good and i actually like the actors and who they play. My problem wasn't the movie, actors or issues. Simply put, since i never read the book, or seen the original it threw me off a little (cause i wasn't expecting all of the nudity) (I went and seen this with my Step mom and her cousins, not something i randomly chose)

I am not mad or anything, i am just stating what i meant and where i came from with that statement.

I totally understand, I can completely appreciate someone not wanting to see the film or being put off/having their experience diminshed by the extremly graphic nature of the film in terms of violence and sex/nudity. It would be interesting to watch the film without that scene; it didn't bother me as much as some people but it doesn't mean it isnt uncomfortable which is clearly what the director is going for in both the films.

This is why I would not mark something like this under spoilers. While it is technically a spoiler, no doubt, I feel it is something that should be very clear to people before viewing. An old woman walked out of the screen during that part when I saw it, said something about "dirty bastard"... er ok. And that is exactly why it would be a good thing to be informed before hand, because it can very much affect someone's enjoyment of a film even if they just need to know when to look away. For example if I were to recomend a film such as Tyranosaur I would make a point of explaining what a difficult and emotional film it is to watch, beginning with a man kicking his dog to death. While uninformed you can still come away having throughly enjoyed the experience, its a good precausion to take.

Would i watch it again, sure! On DVD so whoever i watch it with can decide what they can and can't handle. (as well as me)

Ahhh, see that sucks (makes me wonder if that person ever had it happen and i feel bad they seen it) Like i said good movie, but i probably should have looked into it a little just to know what it was. I did enjoy it though, and i will probably try to read the books so that when the next one comes out i don't have to be so bais towards it and know what to expect.

I like watching movies so i can warn others what to look out for, what its about or what they may like about it. I try not spoil it or tell them not too (more like a "before you watch it just know...")

I'm glad you didn't take it as an angry statement though (i was seriously stressing if i said it rude or not)
