Fight Club.
Mischief. Mayhem. Soap.

Avengers-watchers makes me want to see it again. It was so good. Can't wait for the second one.

Suckahpawnch.

The internet seems to love SuckerPunch for everything it could have been. Or Idunno, maybe I'm missing something. I still find it a confused Snyder film that didn't know whether it wanted to be a high budget, self-conscious, psychological drama with a philosophical script in a blender or an unconscious, high budget action film with gratuitous cheesecake. Overall, it came across as a two hour long contemporary music video with all the implied misogyny expected of Snyder's work. Don't get me wrong; Snyder's capable of great deeds when he has good writers under him, but for the most part... He doesn't treat his women kindly. I suppose the primary cross I kick with Suckerpunch is that I've run into quite a lot of girls who felt that the message carried by the film was girl-p0wer rrahrrahyeahvaginas female-empowering. Which is grotesque, tripey bullshit disturbing, ahaha. At best it was a film about a girl being placed in a terrible situation, coping with it outstandingly badly, and ultimately martyring herself so the bitchiest/most cynical chick she befriended could live to wax philosophic on the ordeal before the credits roll.
...That's not empowering. That's a slap to the face.

But I'll give Emily Browning credit; the girl has a very pleasant singing voice.
Compounded by her playing Violet Baudelaire in the Series of Unfortunate Events adaptation, however mediocre her acting might be, I feel like I'm obligated to love her out of fidelity for my childhood obsessions.

"But the entire movie is fiction", I hear you say.

To which I try to blubber an explanation about the fiction-within-the-fiction.

Last movie I saw was last Sunday and it was The Expendables 2. Much better than the first one IMO

The day before that I saw Premium Rush. The commercials for the movie did not look interesting at all, but friends wanted to see it, and it got good reviews. Movie turned out to be much more than I expected, and I would recommend checking it out

The Avengers 4/5

I really don't like the Hulk and I was with someone who would not stop talking about the hulk so it lost a little for me

When was the last time Zach Snyder wrote an original female character who wasn't a whore?

Yeah...

Last night we got a bit drunk and watched Rubber. Well... it's the best killer psychic tyre movie I've ever seen.

We spent most of the film just shouting META to be honest. Take a drink everytime META. SO META!

This was brilliant though, so dead pan.
"Wait it's not over, its been reincarnated as a tricycle"

The words: 1/5 Pretty boring all the way through and I felt like it had no climax in my opinion.

The Man From Earth - 4/5

Very intellectual movie. Really made me think about a few things. I highly recommend it.
