I seriously need help with how to style my hair... It is pretty short, with shorter choppy layers and an a line cut (shorter in the back going to longer in front), and I've tried curling it before and it just did not work right. So I need some suggestions on what else I can do to make it look good with lolita outfits. It looks cute in 2 ponytails but I am not sure what type of ponytail styles are good for lolita, when I google/search for info on this I find mostly tutorials about styling long hair in elaborate ponytail styles that I can't do because my hair is too short for it to work (like they require looping and twisting the tails around, if I did this I would have no hair left because there's not enough length.)
So far basically I have just been straightening it (it gets random flippy ends otherwise), leaving it down and putting a headband/bow and/or hair clips in it like this: http://farm6.staticflickr.com/5156/7...af61105347.jpg Here are a few pics, right now it is more like the last photo (most recent pic) but I am going to have it cut again soon so the cut will probably be more like the other pics. It's hard to tell but in back it is shorter than the bone at the top of the spine. http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8334/8...720cb2426f.jpg http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8050/8...e53451cbf6.jpg http://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphoto...00826074_n.jpg

You could easily give it a soft curl. Depending on what style you wear, it's possible to put it in a braided updo with all you hair braided into two braids going around the side of your head.
Just pin in the layers so it looks nice and clean You can also do a fake bun by tying a ponytail at the top of your head, and curling the hair under and pinning so it looks like a fluffy bun. I did it here: http://i1188.photobucket.com/albums/...ps435508d6.jpg and here's a pic with my short hair curled: http://i1188.photobucket.com/albums/...ara15/cute.jpg Hope this helps! |

The problem with curls is there are a lot of layers, it's hard to see in the pics but it has very choppy/textured layers that start pretty high up, so when I try to curl it I end up with pieces sticking out weirdly. Plus the back is very short with even shorter layers.

My hair is the same
When i curl it, i spray with a touch of hairspray first so the hairs stick together well, and smooth the top small layers out with a little bit of gel |
