@Dazzle - Sounds fantastic! I am so sorry that I never made it to your pre-Yule Ball gathering! We were the very last to get judged at the costume contest as we were buying time for Harry and Ron who were running late from a character meet-and-greet they were scheduled for. After the judging... I don't remember what we did, but it more than likely involved remembering that we hadn't eaten yet! BUT I am pretty sure most of our very large network of Potter friends are planning Potter-verse for D*C '12, so hopefully we'll run into you!

In spite of everything (any further discussion on that should be taken to PMs- I don't want this thread to turn into Public *****fest 2012), I must commend you for your attitude. Though really, people (this goes for all fandoms and all groups), what's with this need for planning so far in advance? Not that waiting so close to the last minute is a good thing either, but it's not like there isn't anything between the two extremes.

All drama and criticism aside, Skyfirefox (my usual partner in crime for the last 3-4 years) and I are interested in hosting three gatherings (one on Friday, one on Saturday, and one on Sunday as per my usual MO), though it may be a while before we decide on times and location(s) (but no later than mid-August or whenever the master list- which I may or may not be running myself this year- cuts off). We will most certainly be taking the YA Costume Contest, the Yule Ball, and any HP guest panels (no HP guests listed on the website as of yet but that could very well change as we all learned in 2010), the Friday craftsmanship judging, the parade, and other "big" photoshoots like Disney and Marvel/DC- all things likely to affect many an HP cosplayer- into account. Also, if any of the gatherings are in the Marriott at all, they will not be in the Atrium (remember, there are actually others opposed to that location besides Skyfirefox and myself).

Even though we look nothing alike, we will be cosplaying the Weasley Twins this year. No, we're not doing the "one 'missing' an ear with a zombie/angel version of the other" thing. Instead, we plan to wear their "Weasley jumpers" for one shoot, their "lurid green dragon-hide coats" for another, and the magenta robes they wore for the Weasley's Wizard Wheezes opening (in the book). Yes, I will be re-using the wig and "gag bag" I had before, and Skyfirefox will have matching ones. The costumes are currently in the process of being made (among other things Skyfirefox is hand-knitting the sweaters), that's how we know we're doing these costumes even now with D*C months away and other cons in the meantime.

So I guess, Pezzidge, for now you could mention that there will be three gatherings "hosted by Weasleys Wizard Wheezes" (or "with your hosts, Fred and George Weasley"- something along either of those lines) in the first post, with information subject to change as we figure everything out between now and mid-August?

So no way I can finish the Quidditch robes in time with all else I've ended up doing this spring, but I will wear my Slytherin-themed dress robes for the Yule Ball unless it's during a John Barrowman panel. My first loyalty is to my husband's John Barrowman obsession.
