Are people following the "Occupy" Movement? Do you support them or dismiss them?

The "Occupy" movement is gaining a lot of media attention. This is a very youthful movement, a large portion of which are made up of college students and 20-somethings, although there are people from all age groups present. I wondered if people sided with house majority leader Eric Cantor who called the movement "..a growing mob" and Presidential candidate Herman Cain who called them "...unamerican" or do you believe the movement is justified to protest 42% of the nations wealth being controlled by 1% of the population and the disenfranchisement of the middle class in favor of the 1% as the movement proclaims?

Whether this movement produces change or not, the consequences of either scenario are likely to be felt by many of the people on this forum.

It's the same bullshit socialist twenty-somethings have been trotting out for the past ten years.

I think the entire thing is a little sad --- and doesn't really change or draw the attention of the people it should.

I'm not sure standing around areas is going to change the way things are. (I think that about every protest or parade for causes all around the world)

I don't like reaching the age of having to understand politics and government... And America...
IM MOVING TO CANADA WHERE THERE'S FREE HEALTHCARE. AND ANIME NORTH. IN FOUR YEARS WHEN IM OF LEGAL AGE TO LEAVE MY PARENTS.
YEAH.
but I honestly don't understand what the Occupy Movement is. Is it about the big gap between rich and average-paid people? (because that gap pisses me off)

Standing around on other people's property or city property isn't going to accomplish jack squat. If people actually want to DO something, throw out your protest signs and do something other than stand around and yell.

I like to Occupy movement. I just wish they were more focused on the issues that really matter instead of how much people are paid. I hear a little bit of it in their disjoint messages. But what I'd really like to see is the movement focus on corporate political donations. It really pissed me off last year when somehow the Republicans were able to force through a bill that says they basically no longer have to declare where they get their money from and that corporations can donate as much as they want. It's supposed to be a government of the people, not of the corporations. That's my $0.02.

I think occupy wall street/Boston/ect would be more effective if they could actually say what it was that they are doing. Every interview I've seen, the "leader" just rambles on and never says anything. Its like watching some politicians...

Strangely, I know multiple people who've moved to other countries and attained happiness.

I think humans are naturaly self-defeating in their actions and thoughts --- leading to articles such as those. Few will actually muster the effort necessary to adapt themselves to their new country, it is, afterall, much easier to lament how hard it is, how everything sucks and it's the fault of the government for things being as they are.
