I've heard that it is impossible for women to get true abs without steroids.
Anyone know if this is really true? Even though, I'm fine with only getting a flat stomach hehe! But wanting some Capt America abs is what I'm guessing you're after. |

It's definitely possible for females to get abs without steroids. You have to have a very low body fat %, a great diet, and you have to work on your whole body (not just your abs).

On the other hand, it's certainly possible to get abs just as flat and appealing as men. It's just the same procedure guys do: diet and intense exercise. If girls simply follow the same training as men (just with lighter weight) then they will certaintly get similar results. Forget those stupid stability workouts they try to promote to you! |

I second pretty much everything everyone's said.
You'll definitely want to up the amount of protein you eat too. A great trick I've heard from several trainers and nutritionalists is to drink a serving of low fat chocolate milk after you're done with your work out. It's just as, if not more, than the expensive 'muscle building' drinks, gives you calcium, which woman can always more of, and it's more cost effective. Not to mention a lot of protein powders taste like ass, but chocolate milk is always yummy. |

push ups and light weight lifting also keep your diet reletivley healthy (don't leave out carbs that can turn into muscle).

...that's not how food works. But anyway, if you wanna tone and get stronger without neccesarily bulking up, stick to heavy lifting using your own bodyweight. Isolation exercise build size at the expense of functional strength and at a slower rate at that
