Smile The "Sleeping Beauty" fairies' costumes -- Please help!

Hello all!

My older sister and I (and hopefully a friend) are hoping to make the three "Sleeping Beauty" fairies' costumes for Mickey's Halloween Party at Disneyland next year. I was wondering if anyone could tell me how best to make the costumes (the dress, the hat, the wings, etc.). There aren't many people who've made the fairies' costumes, so I'm not sure where to start in regards to construction and patterns. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks! ^_^

I was thinking maybe THIS pattern for the dresses (Dress B). The hat is a simple witch like hat with what looks like Fabric wrapped around the hate and face and it looks like a simple cape, and a simple wooden wand. If you're a beginner sewer I would try with the easy stuff (so you can get some experience in) and save the dress for last. Not much I can help you with just look around for patterns and tutorials and read away.

No, no, no!!!!! All that beautiful research gone and I can't retrieve it....Sorry. I had an answer for you and the computer logged me off. I can't get it back. I have to go break something and rant. Before I go, there are better options out there. There is even a Simplicity Sleeping Beauty pattern number 8328 that is no longer made and the Simplicity Wizard of Oz could work but there is a lot of mixing and matching involved. Google Flora, Fauna, and Merryweather.

I have the sleeping beauty and faries pattern, so I know it exists. It's out of print, but a quick search of the internet may find it... That's how I found it to help someone on here!

I know I've seen the fairy costumes on Etsy. There is someone who sews them there too! You can probably ask her for tips or even looks at the construction of her costume for ideas!

Here is the link

I would go with the simplicity pattern. It's the closest you'll get to this:

You'd still have to make a coordinating apron, but it shouldn't be that hard. I'd use buckram to construct the hats. The scarfs on the hat look like organza. A lamee could be used for the cloaks with the dresses probably being made out of a cotton broadcloth.

I know they're in fat suits though, which sucks.
