Website/C.com gallery: http://www.miccostumes.com Character: Rinoa Heartilly, FFVII. Links to picture(s) of your commissioned item: Website: http://www.miccostumes.com/Final_Fan...e _2282p.html Me in the costume: http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?s...55467&type= 3 Time?: Prompt! Pros: First off, the sellers are very nice, quick to respond, and willing to work with the buyer so that of course is a HUGE plus! The costume when arrived impressed me, the lace was nice, everything sewn, the shirt lined, and the wings detailed very nicely! They even included a nice brown belt to complete the look! The shorts and "skirt" fit my hips perfectly! The top I loved the lining and layering in, they even took the time to include a hook and eye attachment to make the fit better on the bust! On top of that, even though they did not have a wig specially for Rinoa, they suggested another one of theirs that with some trimming could work perfectly, and it did! The quality of the wig was very nice, not party store cheap, and styled nicely. Cons: The shirt was a tid bit too big on me, but with some VERY minor alterations, I made it work for the photoshoot. Final Grade: I am giving this cosplay, my very first to be sponsored by a company!, a grade of A-. It would have been an A+ if the shirt wasn't a strange fit on me. Usually a costume would get a B from me for that, but the fit was easily fixed by wearing a better bra and a few safety pins, and now that I have time just a little bit of stitching will so fix it up! I mean, when everything else fit so great, a little thing like that is no big deal at all! Im so pleased with the outfit, the service, and everything else that I would recomend them and order from them again ![]()

A review about the costume recieved (sponsor program)
![]() Name of Commissioner: MicCostumes Website/C.com gallery: http://www.miccostumes.com Character: Miku Zatsune Links to picture(s) of your commissioned item: Website: http://www.miccostumes.com/Vocaloid_...ume_2602p.html Me in the costume: http://miciaglo.deviantart.com/gallery/33739930 The sellers are so good, they reply quickly and with kindness. The costume is very good: the seams are well made. The pack contains: Jacket, coat, skirt, tie, stocking, headwear Unfortunately the skirt was very long and large for me (i made it shorter); the socks was very short (i asked to MicCostumes to make them knee-high..) so i had to cut them and put into a pair of boots; the shirt is too tight at the chest :/ Whe wig is very soft, i love it *_* I styled the short part because was too long, the ponytails are perfect!! I'm glad to have a sponsor like this! I hope that they give others costume to me ![]() ps: sorry for my bad English >.< Last edited by Sweet_Angel : 11-15-2011 at 01:05 PM. |

Jenet - Garou/KOF Commissioned item: Wig Links to picture(s) of your commissioned item: Website: http://www.miccostumes.com/Axis_powe...ig _950p.html My photoset with the wig: http://jigoku-tsuushin.deviantart.com/gallery/34299318 My Experience: The sellers attention where very good, they kept feedback with me constantly until my doubts disappeared. They are very nice and good to work with. I got the wig really fast and it's lovely! I really love it is so soft and very easy to comb. The color was just perfect and the haircut too, I only did a little modification to the length because was too long for the character, so I had to cut the wig a little. I'm really happy with the product! final Grade: "A" I highly recommend miccostumes! |

Just putting it out there, miccostumes has some of the worst public relations practices to date. They directly steal photos from people on this site (I'm personally dealing with them for taking photos from my own galleries right now.), belittle a good portion of their customer base for not being stick thin, and don't properly research the characters they're selling the costumes of.
Also, they're a subsidiary of milanoo. Buyer highly beware.

I am thinking of ordering a wig from here? Is it safe? It seemed to have gotten pretty decent reviews from other people even on here.

They have been using stolen photos. Just a couple months ago a couple of my friends found their images plastered all over the website advertising costumes the company did not create. Be wary.

Where do you suggest I buy this wig then? This same wig is on multiple different sites, I want to know where the correct place to buy it is! And these weren't even all of the sites using them...But I don't want to pay more than the most expensive one listed here, some were selling for over $70.
This one is by far the cheapest: http://www.ecrater.com/p/13596442/ca...meilin-cosplay (I Heard this site was kind of like Ebay except the feedback is at 74% out of 73 sales. I sent them an email a week ago and haven't heard anything back yet) This is there feedback, what do you think, is it decent? http://www.ecrater.com/view-feedback.php?storeid=230686 Looks kind of sketchy to me... http://www.sanbefall.com/cardcaptor-...wig_p2261.html (this is the most I'm willing to spend on this wig, like I said I have seen it other places for more. I have heard nothing about this site) I've also seen it on Milanoo of course and Miccostumes. These sites have it as well, but they are more than I am willing to spend: They have it on Ebay, but I emailed the person and asked if they could get the price down. I'm not paying more than $60 total and that is with shipping included. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=280782715540 Does anyone know anything about this Ebay store, "Cosmi USA?" Never heard of this place either? Not bad price: http://www.cosplaytribe.com/cardcapt...ig-p-1447.html Or this place... http://www.holiccosplay.com/holiccos...ods.php?id=179 Which is the safest bet? |

Miccostumes is part of Milanoo. eCrater is legit, but they are pretty slow on shipping. What is your skill with working on wigs? If it's easy for you to get into Dallas, you can get 2 black clip-in buns and glue/caulk in wefts/extensions in and clip them in to a short wig.. or get a pigtail wig + the large black buns (which can generally be found at any independently-run beauty supply stores) and fit those over the tops.
I have personally bought from oldKing, Doctored Locks, and Cosplay Wig Glamour.. they are amazing with customer service, very quick with their shipping, and rather fair in their prices. And meh, I'm just going to paste my full rant from another site here about miccostumes/Milanoo: They make forum posts like this, then apologize with this...and continue to belittle larger cosplayers (while not even labelling their characters right.) I've recently seen them offer to send a prominent cosplayer one of their costumes to review, just to get that glowing gold sticker. Shady as all get-out.) Found some screenshots I took last year and now another lovely gem found just this morning.. (This was March 9, 2012) So here's part of the video that I found. After posting my comment there, I open my youtube inbox to find this. I don't see how me having to chew your a** off twice in under a month is a green light for friending... For the record, this photo is not searchable through coscom nor any other cosplay profile. After chewing them out in their original thread, they went to my coscom (which isn't even on my profile there and is the only place that photo is..) and rifled through for photos, taking that one without asking. I don't know if they thought their "apology" was enough, but really? Really?? Am I angered? Yeah, a bit. I know people take photos all the time without permission, but to use it for your own profitable gain? No. You do not do that. You did not spend the time or money to make the costume, it is not your's in any way, shape or form.. (they didn't even get the character right! Ryu is not Yuri.) and if you can't even get your own marketing research done right and continue to belittle and demean a good portion of your customer base... I have strong, strong words about what they can do with a pole and a certain bodily region for it.
