Well I had bobbypinned my wig down to my head like crazy plus I was mostly going on the kiddy rides with my seven year old sister. Plus the reason I was overheating was because it was over 100 degrees outside and mid-day by the time I took it off.

Well, Virginia weather is pretty mild in comparision to Florida. We rarely ge 100+ days here, even in the summer. I guess why there's no qualms about wearing my wig around on a Summer's day. Plus, I mostly stay indoors unless I'm walking or am at King's Dominion.

I wore my blue Kaito wig to the mall once... one little girl proudly walked up to me and said "I LIKE YOUR HAIR!"
Later on I saw some b*tches from my school though, so I rushed to the bathroom to take it off X'D

I always have to use a crazy amount of bobby pins for my long (real) hair, then more on the wig cap, and then even more around the actual wig. I think I've had a total of 40 pins on my head once. Sometimes they really start to hurt throughout the day.

I can see how you would overheat in a hot/humid place and especially if you're strolling around outdoors all day.

Doesn't it just feel so dang good to take off a wig at the end of the day?

<- I'd wear this wig on the street (Arda Lulu) I have not been a natural blonde since I was 12.

I wore it to full days during FanExpo out in public and other then the fact I was wearing orange sneakers with black dress paints no one questioned it. lol

I'm actually getting some custom wigs for casual wear from a store on Etsy.

^^ It's a good idea, I think. Why put your real hair through hell trying to style, cut, or dye when you could easily pick out wigs?

The more I think about that, the more I wonder why most people don't get wigs. I used to try to tease and rat my hair to create volume and fluff, dye it several colors, and use a curler that would only keep my hair wavy for a few hours. Now my real hair is damaged and won't cooperate. I'm in the process of letting it rest and become healthy again and that's when I decided to pick out a cool hairstyle wig that could be for whenever.

Perhaps not the most cost effective way to go, but I have the patience to take care of wigs.

Actually when you factor in all the haircuts, hair dye, and styling products, it probably levels out cost-wise

True, true. But there's the stigma. And if you wear a J-rock flavored wig like Madara Uchiha (And if, like me, you could, you would wear it with Sharingan contacts) people will look at you like you're a weirdo.

Maybe that's what makes it fun.

Well, I've ordered two custom wigs thus far. It'll take 4-6 week for them to get here, but I bet they're worth the time and money.

The styles I comissioned are Hetalia character wigs, I comissioned Cyprus

And Japan

I'm guessing that Japan is a good casual wig to wear with any of my normal outfits and such. However, Cyprus might be a little tricky.

Pshh. I wear my wigs out in public all the time. Even to school. I get some weird looks sometimes, but most of the time people come up to me and say things like "Woah! How'd you get your hair that color!" or "That's crazy!" and then I casually explain to them that I wear wigs. It's a lot of fun.

I've only worn wigs out a few times (and they were (sort of) natural colour - one was black, one was silver, and the other ginger) but I think if I ever wanted to wear my non-natural colour wigs out, I'd wear a hat over it, so the effect would be less...shocking XD I have had my real hair bright blue/green once, and I found I really didn't like the attention, so I don't think I'd wear a non-natural colour wig out (besides at a con) any time soon ^^; And if I were to wear any wig out, I would definitely never wear it to school o.o;
