Awesome
Jiujitsu sounds really intense and 200 situps a day sounds painful...
Amazing results though!

I gain and drop 20lbs often :C
I blame it on my terrible college student habits, haha.
Hopefully I'll drop enough in 2 months so I can cobble together my cosplay in time.
Tops aren't so much of a problem as pants are *sigh*

Yeah, jiujitsu is a REALLY intense exercise. You burn something like 600 calories per class, and the exercise is the sort of "can't move at ALL the next day, sore for a week, soaked my clothes, thought I was going to die" intense if you start out without being particularly fit and it's even intense when you've been in it for a long time. I'd lost several pounds and skyrocketed up my muscle and cardio strength in just a month.

That's pretty much what I am doing :/ it's balls isn't it. And I think you looked good, moot if you got to your desired weight or not.

Yeah, I was proud nonetheless. I did get a trio of not-coplaying jerkwads who I overheard saying I was kind of fat, but they can have a resounding "fuck you", since I worked damn hard, and for three jerks I had about fifty adoring fans. Literally thirty seconds out of the car, six ran over and hugged me.:P

Boyfriend thinks I'd make a great Nami. He thinks I looked pretty with the bra on (ha) and that when the fabric is on it'll look great. He's excited.

I felt like I looked disgusting. I wish I saw what he see's :/

And you should have been proud Shin, you looked great and if I could look like that for Nami I'd be damned pleased with myself.

Lithium, I feel you completely. I got sick for the last year with a fatigue thing (fixed now), and I became the heaviest I've ever been. I'm still trying to lose the weight.

This is all a really roundabout way of saying that you should wear your costume, you'll feel better (I did at PAX East, and was so much happier afterwards that I hadn't given up on it, target weight or not), and also that I've read a lot of articles that suggest green tea is a metabolism booster, if you have a cup a day. And if you don't add sugar or honey, then it's a flavorful beverage without even adding any calories!

I love green tea, and should drink more of it, it's also amazingly good for your skin. It's difficult when everyone else see's something I don't...all I see is wrinkles here and stretchmarks there but NO ONE ELSE notices this AT ALL. It's like I am genuinely the only person to see myself this way and it's incredibly confusing :/

Like I'll find pieces I own that would work for this costume, but they're too small on me now. These pants I have would be PERFECT for the costume..they're a size 8 and I range from a size 10 all the way up to a 14 or so depending on the brand. (women's clothing is so insanely stupid..)At best I'd have 2 pant sizes to drop. At worst 4 or 5. 2 sizes is a slim possibility in 3 weeks, 4 or 5 isn't even a consideration.

Even if I didn't eat a single bit of food for the next 3 weeks I'd still not be able to fit into those pants.

Fuck all.

The saying's true; we're our own worst critics. I'm pretty much in the same boat; I'm all "ugh, FAT, I look AWFUL" every time I see myself not-totally-clothed in the mirror.

....whereas, my boyfriend says I'm gorgeous regardless (Whited out for not really being PG 13and just LOVES to take artsy photos of me with various degrees of nudity. He sure doesn't care I don't have a porn-star body:P). Annnd, I HAVE lost some of that excess weight I wanted gone. I'm not there yet, but I was 155 just after Xmas and finally pared myself back down to 151. I'd like to get to 145, ideally under 140 (but I'll have to start jiujitsu/judo again or gymnastics, like I'd planned on. Or a lot more dance). So progress is slow, but still there.

CURSES! I dropped my last midol and won't be able to get to the store for 9 hours. If anyone sees my head spinning around, and you hear strange noises coming from me just run.

FML I am so bloated I can't close my work shirt or my jacket. ><

It was considered a 'snack' for me and because I had it I have eaten light today and it's something I'll be working off in no time tonight. That is NOT normal for me to have. I've cut out drinking pop every where else.

For breakfast I have oatmeal with cinnamon and a touch of brown sugar-usually with fruit as well. Or a hard boiled egg with rye toast.

I am not bored of my food at all really, this is the kind of food I ENJOY eating. I hardly ate at all when I gained this weight, I wouldn't have breakfast or lunch-it was just that I was replacing my meals with soda (pop). That's what comforted me during my down period. I can feel very filled up on small portions of food.

It isn't that I don't know how to lose weight, or that I am doing it wrong. I am doing what I can and working hard. I am eating small portions of healthier food and keeping track of portions. I eat lots of fruit and veg, light meat, and healthy grains. I drink enough water and enjoy green tea. I also make my own smoothies, usually with breakfast, and don't add anything like extra sugars.

If I have a 'treat' or 'snack' of some kind I take that into consideration with everything else and eat light. Such as with the soda I had today. I had an egg for breakfast, half a rye Potbelly's sammach with tea, and salmon sushi (hand rolls) for dinner (2). Because I had something higher in calories and sugar then I normally allow, I had a smaller lunch and a light dinner.

I exercise like crazy, and have built up much more then I have ever been able to do and am going at it well.

It's more me being a downer and depressed that I don't know if my progress will be where I want it to be.
/hmm it sounds like your doing everything right, maybe you wanna get your thyroid checked. Another thing you might wanna take into consideration is building up the fiber and protien intake because those are what fill you up.

I just found chia seeds at the health food store not to long ago. There's plenty of recipes you can throw together wit that and the seeds do like the commercial does and grow like crazy But then thats good because it fills you up ;p If your interested in flavored water you might wanna try hint thats one 'a the best flavored water wit a touch of different things like pomagrante, tangerine, honeydew hibiscis and all that good stuff.

They even have cucumber which my crazy behind got on youtube and made a stoopid video about <,< >,>

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gKCHEgRP1WY

Also I'm trying to think of whatever you said about not having enough energy /hmm ask your doctor about taking co q 10 suppliments. They're a bit pricy but if you check the right stores you can get your shares worth.

Hey Lithium question, did you have a quick drop in your sodium intake. A sudden drop in sodium (salt) can cause temporary water weight gain. Try taking a water pill (or PMS pills regularly for a day or two) and see if that helps. If not then yes see a doctor. It just clicked in my mind because I had the same problem when I went from TV dinners to eating healthier.

Re: Both health things and what not

My issue with energy I think is more related to me going to bed very late at night, being woken up at odd hours in the morning when Boyfriend goes to work or school then falling back asleep when he leaves and having no set time when I wake up. I am trying to get on a better sleep schedule so I am not left feeling super sleepy all day.

I do also take hormonal birth control, the official stance on it says that weight gain from it is minimal and fairly rare. Some personal reports have said that the estrogen from the pills can cause water retention which make it difficult to lose weight since it causes water retention.

As far as salty stuff...pop does have a pretty high amount of salt and as I've cut that out almost completely I imagine my body would react to a sudden decrease in caffeine, sugar, and salt.

For some reason I was having an impossible time posting what I originally wanted to say, and kept getting an error page in the advanced posting setting or having the quick reply just keep on loading and never post. So I had to cut down my reply into little chunks :/

My mom was chubby when she smoked.

Then she got too stressed to smoke and started losing weight. Mostly because she'd eat a single bowl of cereal the entire day and drink overly sugared coffee.

Just changing up a bit what I am doing now that I have better endurance. I am doing shorter works outs but with more cardio stuff.
