Well, if it's any help, the US calls itself a melting pot and we call ourself a Cultural Mosaic. But yah. Most first-generation immigrants don't refer to themselves as Canadian. (And yeah. I'm reallllly Canadian when it comes to my origins. Parents, grandparents, three of four great-grandparents and two more great-somethings on one side were born in Canada, and most of them were English before that. There's nothing unusual or "exotic" at all in my ancestry and no recent-ish immigration. No hyphenated term for me. Just "Canadian.")

I just call everyone savages, regardless of their background or skin colour. Saves time.

Lol, we're all savages to some other culture. Americans and British in 19th century China were widely considered to be barbarians among the locals, as one example...

Not only that, but all current white people are only about seventeen centuries removed from gettin' buck-ass naked, painting themselves blue, and losing their minds.

"CANADIAN".

That is my national/cultural identity. Yes, my ancestors came from somewhere else, but my family has been living in ths country for several generations (and in some cases, like Shinobi, well over a hundred years) and I don't have ties to anywhere else.
Better than my answer --- I'm pretty sure everyone in my biological family is from Canada and never left.

Of course, I never bothered to look further and only learned recently that my dad worked in Hartford, Connecticut for a non-descript period of time.

Tell him the cached search results can't be shared.*

*Kinda curious what's the behind logic for the ID.

Conversation I have had only about a billion times:

Nosy Stranger: So, what are you?
Me: American.
NS: No, I mean - WHAT ARE YOU? You look Asian.
Me: My father's family came from Korea.
NS: Oh, so you are half Korean and half American?
Me: No, I am all American.
NS: Oh, you know what I mean!
Me: Yes. I know exactly what you mean. Good day. Try not to step on any Legos.

It's probably very irritating to have americans try to underline that you're a foreigner when you're born and raised in the USA to begin with.

It's funny how that happens when your not white. Fun fact my dads father is an Irish immigrant, and his mothers parents are German and Welsh immigrants. Next time I see a white person I feel like trying to pin where their from by how pale they are just to even up the score.

on another note I discovered every time I come to work I get sick. I do not know if that is a good thing or a bad thing. The only thing that really has changed is the cleaning crew. How do I know, this is the third week in a row same symptoms that usually disappear by my second day off. Maybe I am allergic to really fucking stupid. Oh yeah today I was asked to write out my report rather then typing it out. Tommarow I will be lectured again about how many times my hand writing changed and some how I will magically need to get my hand writing to match. Despite my switch in hand writing my Fs remain the same so I don't see how they can claim it's not me writing it all. FYI I use calligraphy Fs so it doesn't take rocket science.
