Real tired of everyone who wants changes to gunlaws is being accused of "pushing political agendas". After 30 something school shootings w/ ZERO CHANGES, it's more messed up that people DON'T want change than wanting change.

After 9/11, there were MASSIVE changes in airline security policies, not to mention bullshit acts like the Patriot Act, put into action. After Columbine? All changes/security upgrades were handle on a CASE BY CASE basis at schools. Not national. That's sickening IMO.

This. As of the reports I read, nobody involved in the attack in China died. That's a pretty significant difference.

The criminals are the ones that disregard law and would find a way to get their hands on a gun, or some weapon of the like.
I've never quite agreed with this. While it's true that criminals disregard the law, it's far harder to get hold of weapons after they're banned (in London catching and arresting just one smuggler or garden shed manufacturer can completely cut off the entire supply of guns, or so I've been told).

Besides, criminals are always going to be better armed than their victims (you can never be better at fighting or better armed than someone who fights for a living). Not to mention since they're the one committing an offense, they have the initiative. Trying to solve that by better arming the populace just makes the same crimes occur with more weaponry involved.

I only say that because the event is still so recent. After a month I think it's fine to start talking about this but too many people on both sides of the fence jump into these tragedies the moment they happen and start talking about blah blah you know.

The thing that bugged me about those who are in favor of tighter gun control were those who have been pushing for it for years and they didn't even wait until the bodies were cold before taking an "told-you-so" stance on the shooting. That isn't having the moral high ground, it's just bad, knee-jerk theatrics.

No fan of conservatives either, as they're touting everything from feminism to video games to single-parent homes to be the real issue. Anything but they're precious firearms. Makes me want to heave.

Yes, they are. That is undeniable. One could also argue that the media we are subjected to can be a factor in the issue, or many other factors (though obviously the weapon is the most blatant issue one could point out, and it's true that it is easier to shoot someone than stab someone). My point was moreso that taking away guns entirely as some people would like to do would do more harm than good. Personally, I think the biggest issue lies on these people that are messed up in the head not getting the attention they should in regards to whatever mental abnormality there is going on with them, so that it can be addressed and hopefully treated before they do something extreme.. Mental health is not as heavily stressed as I think it ought to be in society. However, that's just how I perceive the situation.

I see your points, and many of them are good points, though the thought of a ban on guns makes me feel uneasy. This is coming from somebody that has never used a gun, though when I feel I'm old enough and ready I would consider going through the process to get one and learn to use one for self-defense. I feel that ultimately I'm all for making weaponry harder to get-- stricter processes and whatnot. A legitimate ban is what I can't quite agree with. Though in the end, this is how I perceive the situation.

my mom is such a spoiled self centered ****. if anything is not EXACTLY her way she throws a fit. this morning she was screaming at me because when i when i was installing an update for a game i have i installed a extra toolbar by mistake. she would not even listen to me she just kept screaming at me. she wants everything in her life to be so ******* perfect.

next bs with her: i wanted my gf to visit for Christmas but the weather is/was to bad so i was planning on having her come down for valentines day until after the next con that is in late march. so mom throws a fit over how my gf can't do anything and what i do over at work is half assed. my mom acts like my gf is in the way, but my gf does what she can but thats not good enough for my mom. my mom wants my gf to be able to lift over 500 pounds and be able to move at super speed (sarcastic).

i know the whole fact of my gf being at my work and all but it worked just fine before. but for some reason my mom thinks i don't get enough done while my gf is here..but then again my mom thinks so low of me i would not be surprised that she would say that. she acts like i cannot do anything at all.

even if i tell her exactly what she wants to hear its not good enough shes got to control every aspect of my life. im getting sick of this, but the good news is my gf is taking come classes on her anger problem.
